Works great!
This works great 24/7 and uses about 6-7 watts per hour for me. It's also very quiet. Every once in a while you'll find a good deal for a nice item like this.I made a pond filter out of this since the barley straw was not working. I took a small perforated basket from dollar tree, and a hand towel. I put the hand towel in the basket to line the basket like a bowl shape. Then I used the pump to pump water into the hand towel. Pretty soon brown goopy stuff started growing. "Oooh! Chocolate pudding!" I thought. So I tried some. It's not chocolate pudding. But the bacteria will help get the waste out of our pond and reduce algae.

Good pump for a small water garden!
This is a follow-up review, now that the seller corrected an issue with a defective pump with great care & generosity. This little pump does a great job in our small water garden. Stays put on the side of our large container (other brands would always fall off into the bottom, allowing clogging), and puts out a good steady stream of water. The seller generously includes a good supply of new tubing with the pump, but be sure to completely un-kink the plastic tubing, which arrives packed in a way that bends it (should become flexible by submerging in hot water)-- the kinks can impair water flow. But it has been working like a champ ever since we got the new replacement plugged in. We appreciate Ankway for replacing the defective pump right away.

Used for Aquarium Water Changes
This is a great low power water pump. I like to find ways to fill my aquariums easier. Typically, I get pumps that are too powerful. It has a vertical lift of like 3 feet which is great for my use. I would recommend for any fountains, water change systems, or cooler circulation. For anyone looking, the nozzles can accommodate 8.5mm or 13mm hoses. It is still working great for water changes.

Does it’s job
Pretty good little pump for the price. I use the 160 gph to fill my fish tank from a bucket during water changes. I highly recommend using a different tube if you plan on doing that, the tube that comes with it is so short. The power level is weak but is to be expected from a lower power unit. I use the 210 gph to get water from my RODI storage bin to my buckets with a 25 foot tube, works great for that purpose.

DOES NOT LAST
I bought two of these pumps and the same thing happened. They start out quiet with plenty of flow. After about two months they pump intermittently. Finally they just stop pumping. Upon disassembling them both of the impellers were loose from the magnet that spins on the shaft to drive the impeller. So there is nothing to spin the impeller. If they lasted for my needs, they would be 5 stars. With a two month service life these motors would not be worth having for free if i had to request a new one each time.

Quality unit, but not very powerful.
This is a decent little pump, but it does not have the power to pump water to a head height of greater than 3 feet. I use mine to change aquarium water and must elevate my water bucket to being the same height as the aquarium so that the pump can move the water. It’s a quality-built unit. Just be careful about what you’re expecting it to do. It’s not very powerful.

Good value, useful for racking
I'm not using this for an aquarium - I'm using this for racking between vessels. If used carefully it works well. Comes apart easily to clean, and is completely sealed. My only improvement would be an on/off switch.

Decide how important the flow setting knob is going to be to you ...
The flow rate knob was absolutely non functioning ... when I took the easy to disassemble faceplate off, I found that the rotary knob was nothing but a rotary 'gate' with two openings that rotated open or closed ... I ended up paying for a ball valve to fit midhose in order to control the really slow flow I was hoping the units own control 'valve' would handle .... overall it works well, but turning that knob did absolutely nothing and the hose flows out a near 1/4 diameter sized stream of water in either position ...UPDATE : It's been over a week now of usage and this pump hasen't failed to intrigue me with it's antics .... can be quiet in its operation for maybe 2 hours, then just gets noisy with a kind of 'buzzy' vibration ..... pull the plug and then replug and it will either have no effect or it will in fact go silent again for varying lengths of time ..... if you will be in close proximity to this pump you might do well to find another pump that operates with less noise ....funny that there is nothing that should be causing this noise as the water that it is circulating is debris free and constantly refiltered filtered by activated charcoal .... I have just purchased the 4 oz. tube Amazon sells of food grade pump lube for drinking water, hoping this stops the noise ...
