Review: Stunning artwork and a wonderful message at the heart of its story - This is my youngest son's next English book for the new school term, so I thought it would be great to have a copy at home. This is a beauty of a book with some of the most gorgeous illustrations and most accessible written sections I’ve seen. Overall, the concept is a pure winner and perhaps one of the simplest of ways to introduce the younger generation to the concept of evolution. It’s also lovely to see the emphasis on moths, as opposed to the usual butterflies! A stunning book and thoroughly enjoyed by all ages in our home, this is highly recommended. Review: Wonderful - An absolutely beautiful book: 100% recommended. Everything about this book is gorgeous. The hardback covers are coated with some magical material that makes them feel as silky as a moth's wings. The art work is superb, and the story line meaningful, poetic and accessible for children. I read this with my 5 and 9 year old and both loved it. It tells the true evolutionary story of a moth species that changes its appearance as a result of environmental factors. It helps children to understand evolution, while at the same time gently pointing out that human actions can have both negative and positive consequences for wildlife. We need more books like this.

Magical and beautiful
The most magical book about moths, evolution in practice, and shot through with a message of hope for the future. The pictures are a joy, but more excitingly, so are the words, which are lovely to read and captivating to listen to.

Beautiful book
A beautiful book in collage form, retells the well known take of the moth population that changed colour in response to pollution, demonstrating adaptation and evolution in record time. A useful text to accompany teaching evolution in year 6 primary Science.

Good lesson for little kids
Fun retelling of the process of micro evolution for little kids. Explains the concept of human impact on the environment. Appealed to one of my kids more than to the other, but it’s an easy read and the concept is easily understood.

Very interesting perspective
Very interesting to describe evolution through the story of one particular species and how and why it changed over time to adapt to its changing environment. It really drives home the point of how evolution works, in a simple, clear and child-friendly way. Great concept.
