Very lightweight ultra-strong guy ropes which are worth the extra cost.
This cord is genuine Dyneema / Spectra UHMWPE para-cord, 1.8 mm thick with a 200 Kg min. breaking strain, suitable for very lightweight technical tents in extreme conditions (or anyone else who likes lightweight, strong kit). It’s supplied from a Canadian outdoor co. remarkably, Post-free from N. America, even without Prime & only took 8 days to arrive by DPD. I bought this pack because the sliders / adjusters with it are sized to suit the thin cord, 1.8 mm being the second-thinnest available after the min. 1.5 mm (you can get 3 & 4 mm from other sources but …. WHY ?)? There’s 18.5 metres, 60 ft. The cord & adjusters are the same as supplied with my Canadian Durston X-Mid 2P lightweight backpacking trekking-pole tent, but the was supplied with the minimal 4 guy cords & the supplied cord is black. So I’m adding 4 extra guys, these are bright reflective - I may in fact replace the existing ones also for visibility reasons if I’m using it on a campsite rather than on the fellside. Looks great - not tested yet - Canadian stuff tends to be engineered to a high spec. even if actually made in China, Taiwan or Vietnam. I have absolute faith in it & it’s worth the $27:50 US (£UK £21:50) & no import-duty payable.

Lite outdoors guy lines
Light weight, don’t slip and strong. The cord works well in short lengths on my hooped bivvy but is prone to kinking and tying themselves itself in knots in longer lengths. Probably not the easiest cord to use if you don’t want to save weight and just need some general guy lines.

Excellent, the tensioners hold well
Excellent value for money guyline & tensioners, the cord is robust enough to hold a person's weight so more than enough to hold down a lightweight tent. The tensioners have a moving latch that locks the cord better than other designs that would only rely on friction.

Strong & good length
Just what I was looking for to help support a pole (Xmas dec) in the garden as kept being blown over. With some tent pegs this did the job.

If you're looking to shed some weight and improve the pitch of your REI or other mid-priced tent, this is a great solution. The 1.8mm Dyneema line is super strong and light, but unlike many of the cheaper options here on Amazon, the cover stays intact while being knotted and un knotted. It is more stiff than something like regular nylon or paracord, but the Dyneema is very strong and the reflective surface actually works. The tensioners have to be be "hard tied" to an anchor point with a loop of line (either to your tent corners or your stakes) and then you run a line up through the tensioner and out - it is VERY easy to thread them and they hold tension extremely well. The only problem is that they are very difficult to loosen while they are under tension - you basically just have to pull your ground stakes to break the tension, THEN you can loosen the line because. This is because they lock by jamming a cam into the line when under tension and there is no external means to push the cam back out of its wedged position while the line is under tension

Cord is excellent and easy to work with. Tensioners also work very and are convenient.

Overall I was quite impressed with this package. This is indeed 1.8mm line, I don't know what the other reviewer is talking about. It also appears to be dyneema as the core expands when heated, similar to other dyneema lines that I've used. Very strong, absolutely zero stretch. Handles very well, easy to tie knots with little slippage, and a good flexibility, but still slightly stiff. The reflective weave in the sheath is functional, but not bright. More important to me though, is that it doesn't hamper the "feel" and flex of the rope, as I have experienced with other reflective cords (*cough* Niteize *cough*). The line-locks work very well, though I can't say I've tested their strength limits, or durability. They certainly seem to lock the line in place, and are very simple to adjust. The plastic feels tough.
