My husband has been recently diagnosed with Parkinson's. He fell breaking his humerus bone up in the shoulder blade area. He went to rehab for a while where I was arriving in time to feed him every day because he was so shaky and couldn't use his right hand to feed himself. In rehab the OT gave him a weighted spoon with a large handle that reminded me of the one we used with one of my preschoolers with CP. These are not heavily weighed but have a textured grip that keeps them from slipping. The grip is the same as on the one he was using in rehab. The metal part is bendable and a good standard size. The cost is comparable to some brands that will send only one utensil where in this set you get 3. My daughter and I have washed them several times in the sink with no problems. [I've long removed my dishwasher so I can't say how they hold up in one.] I may order another set so that we can have them available between washings. My husband enjoys being able to feed himself, so they work very well for him.

The bendable aspect is challenging and I am having trouble finding the right position.

My husband loves these. He has Hereditary Tremors and these REALLY TRULY helps him.
