(imho) Ignore the racists, who say this is inferior because it's made in Taiwan, and not America, the quality control, and materials are all that matter.. This is a great hammer for the price, maybe you could get better,? - - dunno, ? (Stilletto, Vaughan, etc),, but you'd pay heavily for it,, I really recommend this hammer, should last my lifetime, and a heirloom for my grandson,, In the words of the great MC,, It's hammer time,, lol,,

Very nice hammer, good ballance its what you expect from Estwing, only drawback is that the styles not good in removing nails. This is one for my tool box

I am a carpenter by trade and this is my favourite style and weight of hammer. I own several types but always use this one day to day. I much prefer the wooden handle to rubber or leather. Very well balanced and a joy to use.

The 16oz hammer is fantastic in every aspect and appearing as an out- moded traditional wooden tool will not be recognised on site as a superb estwing, hopefully!

returned as totally unsuitable, the balance of the claw is wrong and looks nothing like that which is in the picture, the hammers shaft is more suitable for a sledge hammer. A 20 oz hammer was ordered but a `6 oz delivered. I am not sure that Estwing as a manufacturer condones this item.

Even though I'm 70, I could see using this hammer for the whole day. Love the wood handle and overal balance of it. These go together to make it a worthy tool to have in your tool box. With it being a 20 oz. hammer, it allows for longer periods of usuage. This knowledge comes from years of practice, a "20" was my standard weight hammer.

elijo esta valoracion porque me esperaba un producto fabricado en EEUU el martillo esta bien se corresponde con la referencia del fabricante pero yo esperaba un producto fabriacado en los estados unidos de america no uno hecho en taiwan. tengo herramienta hecha en taiwan y es de una excelente calidad pero esperaba otra cosa He hablado con la marca y me han dicho que si es suyo que este modelo se fábrica en Taiwán. No obstante he de decir que es una pasada. El mango aguanta perfectamente y tras 2años de uso intensivo sigue como nuevo. Se lo he regalado a mi hija pequeña y está encantada con el.
