Powerful, Compact, and Excellent Value for Money.
I recently picked up the Apple Mac mini with the M4 chip, and I have to say it’s an impressive little powerhouse. Despite its small size, the performance is top tier, the 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU handle multitasking, creative software, and productivity apps with ease. It runs whisper quiet and stays cool, even during heavier workloads. The integration with my iPhone and iPad is seamless, as you’d expect from Apple. Handoff, AirDrop, and Universal Control all work perfectly, making it easy to switch between devices without missing a beat. The M4 chip feels like a big step up in terms of speed and efficiency, and macOS runs incredibly smoothly. Design wise, it’s as sleek and minimal as ever, and it doesn’t take up much space on the desk. Despite the compact build, it offers solid connectivity, including Gigabit Ethernet for stable networking.

Incredible Power in a Compact Package – A Must-Have Mac!
I recently upgraded to the new Apple Mac mini with the M4 chip, and I’m absolutely blown away by its performance! The 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU handle everything I throw at it – from heavy multitasking and coding to video editing and graphics work – without breaking a sweat. The 16GB of unified memory is more than enough for all my productivity needs, and the 512GB SSD is lightning-fast, making boot-ups and file transfers incredibly smooth. It’s also whisper-quiet, even under load, which is a huge plus if you're working in a quiet environment. One of the best features is how seamlessly it integrates with my iPhone and iPad. Handoff, AirDrop, and Universal Clipboard all work flawlessly – it truly feels like the Mac mini is the brain at the center of my Apple ecosystem. Also, it's already optimized for Apple Intelligence, which makes it feel future-proof and ready for the next generation of smart features and AI-enhanced workflows. The Gigabit Ethernet gives me fast and stable internet for remote work and streaming, and the overall design is sleek and minimalistic – it fits perfectly on my desk without taking up space. If you’re looking for a desktop that offers premium performance, tight Apple integration, and incredible value for its size and power, this Mac mini M4 is the way to go. Highly recommended!

My First Mac
I purchased the Mac Mini M4 as a replacement for my old windows computer. - I decided to buy it without ever having tried the Mac operating system or having owned a Mac before. - Firstly, the hardware/build quality is first class; a premium metal construction with a neat small design. - There are several usb c ports as well as a lan port for networking and hdmi port for video out. - I was and remain extremely impressed with the processing power of the M4 chip; which smashes through anything I throw at it, including gaming (cyberpunk 2077 and others); and its fast at video editing (faster than my windows pc by far). - The Mac operating system is intuitive and responsive and the updates are handled so much better than a windows computer. / So much so m, I can’t see myself returning to windows now I have this Mac Mini. - lastly - it’s so portable- and I carry an iPad which I use as a portable monitor if I’m going away.

Maybe the best tech purchase I've made... Seriously.
I have always been a lifelong Windows PC user, and always viewed Apple as 'style over substance'. Pretty looking premium lifestyle products which were way more expensive yet less capable than the PC or Android phone equivalent. However, this base model is more capable and powerful than mini PC's at almost twice the price and it is not possible to build a PC at this price anywhere near as capable... Which has completely flipped my opinion of Apple products. It's actually shocking that I am now an iPhone and Mac user. I never saw that coming! I opted for the base spec machine as it does everything I need with ease. Just to compare to your own needs and usage; I'm a semi-professional user and I do not play any games. I use the machine for all the usual web browsing, email and office type apps, I have a couple of media players for playing my own music and 4K movies from HDD, I use Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom and Illustrator along with a few other random productivity and streaming apps, and I still have approx 165-170GB remaining of the 256GB SSD. I have no clue what I would ever do to fill the HD, as all my files, images etc are stored on external drives. Likewise for 'only' having 16GB of RAM; I had my concerns, but the occasions I feel the machine could be quicker, such as mass-importing hundreds of high-res (45MP) RAW photographs into Lightroom, is so rare it just doesn't even cross my mind to need the upgrade. Obviously if you're a heavy user, processing a lot of images or editing video every day; You'd likely benefit from the M4 Pro and more RAM to keep your workflow seamlessly smooth and snappy, but rest assured the base M4 is very capable and will still get the job done. The same applies to the connectivity speed... The three Thunderbolt 4 ports at the rear are already faster than I could ever 'need', but if you're regularly transferring huge quantities of data and BIG files, and every extra minute affects your workflow... You could benefit from the Pro's Thunderbolt 5 ports. For my usage it is such fine margins that once again I just couldn't gaslight myself into spending more money (which is rare!). Considering even iPhones no longer have them, the 3.5mm headphone jack is very welcome for those with wired headphones. It's just a nice touch and extra versatility even if most won't use it. I won't moan about the price of upgrades as they're irrelevant to me, but the one single negative I can mention even at the brilliant price is the power button... Apple decided to put it underneath at the rear (likely to put all ports and switches on a single small board for space saving and efficiency) so it's a bit of a faff to power it up if you have the box tucked away. I only do it once or twice per day but should you have to pick up your PC to turn it on? I don't think so... Just finally, from a buyer/user perspective, I have never owned a mini PC or even a Mac before but I just couldn't justify not buying the M4 Mini. It's been a seamless transition and the base spec M4 Mini is probably the best value tech product I have ever bought. It's an incredibly capable media workhorse and for a genuinely premium brand product to actually be 'cheap', exceed every preconception and expectation is a feeling I'm not used to and it's sensational. Apple have converted another PC owner... And maybe that's exactly the pricing strategy. I've rambled on for far too long here but I hope my own usage helps you to assess your own needs. The cost of the upgrade from the base-spec M4 to the M4 Pro is approx £700, which is a VERY nice new 32" monitor, or a selection of high-end accessories and hard drives... So if you don't 'need' that power bump, I'd spend the money elsewhere in your setup... Which I did, and haven't regretted it for a second.

A great switch from an iMac.
Sick of paying to replace a screen and hardware when an iMac stops being supported. Compact, fast, quiet and easy to set up. Save yourself hundreds of pounds and instead of upgrading to larger memory storage, pair with a UGreen Docking station and choose your memory availability for so much less. Big fan!!

Powerful and Compact , A Brilliant Upgrade.
I have been using the Apple Mac mini with the M4 chip for a little while now, and honestly, it’s blown me away. It’s amazing how something this small can be so powerful. Everything just feels instant, apps open in a flash, multitasking is effortless, and even editing photos and videos runs buttery smooth. What I love most is how quiet it is. You can barely tell it’s on, even when it’s working hard. It also connects perfectly with my iPhone and iPad, making everything feel super seamless. For its size, it’s an absolute beast, compact, fast, and reliable. Definitely worth it if you want a powerful desktop without the bulk and are into the Apple ecosystem.

Ex Windows user - very happy with Mac Mini M4
I've always been a Windows PC user but I was getting tired of my PC constantly blue-screening and when a family member got the basic Mac Mini M4 and I saw how good it was I thought I'd try it out for myself. I got the basic M4 CPU but 24GB RAM because I tend to keep a lot of browser tabs open and I need to run VMs too. I'd prefer a bigger SSD than 512GB (I think 1TB should be a minimum now) but I bought an expansion dock and fitted 1TB into that. I've managed to run all the browsers and Office apps that I need and have installed VMWare Fusion to run Linux and Windows11 VMs. This gives me access the MS Access which I use for my job. The VM solution means I get the stability and easy of Mac but I can run Windows in a small VM and have access to a few of the applications I can't get on Mac. I also still use MS OneDrive to share my documents and pictures with my MS Live / Office account seamlessly. Thiscan also be shared into the VM too if you need to work on the files there. The set-up is easily enough to run a small VM (residing on the expansion dock) with low demand apps; 3x browsers with up to 40 tabs open; and 2x LLMs like ChatGPT & Claude; 2x OneDrive / Sharepoint mounts; Teams + webcam; NordVPN; WhatsApp etc etc There are some annoying glitches to be aware of - not least that you can store your OneDrive / SharePoint mounts on the docked drive BUT, even though it is used like an internal drive because the dock isn't readily removable, MacOS/OneDrive still treats it as a removable drive and so it keeps a back-up copy on the internal drive, which wastes space. I hope they address this in later releases. I also really hate the Mac Photos/Preview image software because it seems way too simplistic compared to Windows freeware applications like IrfanView or FastStone. I've had to install GIMP to do editing that I can do much easier on Windows but Apple want to force you to use paid-for high-end applications like PhotoShop. The freeware MacOS image apps like DigiKam and others just seem slow and clunky. Anyway, all in all I'm very happy with the Mac Mini M4 and I'd thoroughly recommend it to anyone wanting a cheap and powerful-enough computer for most use-cases. It's also incredibly easy to just pick up and take with you if you have to move location. I've had to spend time looking after family and I can just take my computer with me in my bag (assuming I have a screen at the other end).

The most bang for buck computer on the market!
I've just ordered my second MacMini M4 from Amazon. The first was ordered from Apple as a refurbished Mac Mini for the same price as the brand new one just ordered from Amazon! Anyway they work super fast, and are incredibly small in physical size. A complete no brainer if you're in the market for a new computer! I've ordered base models and after market I TB SSD's. There are a number of videos on youTube that show how to install the upgrade SSD's.
