Hippomotto Learn to Dress Basic Skills Toy - Space Hippo Gray Boy Design - 21"

We bought this adorable hippo astronaut for our grandson's 2nd birthday, which is in February, so he has not gotten it yet; but we love it! We especially like all of the options for learning about clothing fasteners and the fact that nothing comes off to be forever lost. The size is good for little fingers to work on; and the entire concept just makes us laugh out loud everytime we look at him.

My grandson (age 3) wanted to take the clothes off. Once he found out he couldn't, he wasn't interested. I, personally, thought it was really cute.

Bought for my two year old for Christmas. She played with it maybe twice, not aggressively at all, and the zipper is broken and the buckle strap came unsewed and frayed (ours looks just like the photo with the other one star review). Overpriced in the first place and then lasted for about 10 minutes of play.

This is a cute toy, however it is a little hard for a just 2 year old. It is also very large so it doesn't make the best car toy. Otherwise the quality is very good. I think it is a good toy, my son just wasn't interested.

I had really high hopes for this when I first received it. Unfortunately, my toddler likes the buckle best and after about 2 weeks had completely shredded the strap. It overall seems a bit overstuffed making it difficult for tiny hands to pull pieces together.

Hippomotto is a great alternative to the numerous “learn to dress” toys and learning materials that exist in the marketplace. I bought this for my son because I wanted him to learn these practical life skills, using a durable toy that was also entertaining to play with, beyond buckling his belt and tying his shoes. It was also important to me that he not have the same materials at home as he does at his Montessori school, since I want him to stay engaged in the classroom and not get bored. My son is 2 and so far, loves using the zipper and buckles. He also uses the handle on the back of the hippo’s helmet to take him from place to place.

I gave this to my two yr old grandson who loves to zip and buckle everything. I thought this would be a good learning toy for his eye hand coordination unfortunately the zipper does not work properly. He is able to buckle but not unbuckle, and with time I’m sure he’ll master the other gadgets, I just wish the zipper worked and wasn’t coming undone.

This hippo is about the size of my 2 year old daughter, and she loves it! I think manipulating the pieces is easier for her because it's her size. Some of the snaps are a little tight and take a little more muscle to put together, but overall I like this toy a lot for her and I think she'll grow into different features over time. Additionally, the space hippo theme is very fun and whimsical (I purchased the non-girly one) and again will lead to more use as she gets older and can imagine a hippo in space.
