I'm sorry I didn't review this book as soon as it came out, but I've been savoring it very slowly, picking it up now & again over the course of months. It's the final volume in Campbell's Collected Works—a marvelous series from New World Library that I don't want to end. It's a fitting capstone. I love spoken Campbell even more than written Campbell. (Which is why "Pathways to Bliss" and "Thou Art That," pieced together from lectures, are probably my favorite books in the series.) "Myth and Meaning" is a very worthy addition. As an overview of his life and work, it can be the first Campbell book you read, or the last. There's simply no one better than Joe when it comes to teaching religion and mythology. The amount of knowledge and wisdom he assimilated—and could remember and articulate off the top of his head—is astounding. All of today's fans of Jordan Peterson would be better served reading Joseph Campbell.

The very best!
I believe fourteen new books have been published by the Joseph Campbell Foundation (New World Library) since Joseph Campbell's passing, and this book is by far the best of the lot! Stephen Gerringer did a fabulous job crafting/editing this work. This is an absolute must read!
