Great For a Mac mini - keyboard is always lit while computer is on.
For the high price of Apple branded keyboards, they don’t make a single backlit one. I’m guessing that is because they only are only wireless and that would eat up too much battery.Since I am using this keyboard on a Mac mini, I really don’t need the keyboard to be wireless, which allows for an always on backlit keyboard. Besides, if I really want to use a wireless one I already have a mini Logitech backlit Bluetooth mini keyboard which will dim and illuminate within a few seconds of pressing a key, but I found that annoying. It did however have good battery life. This Macally keyboard is great. I often use the Mac at night and the backlit keys are really helpful, since I don’t like to keep the room bright. Because it is a wired, the backlighting always stays on. The keyboard seems rugged, and the keys have a nice feel to them with just enough tactile response for key confirmation. The keyboard also has a unique feature in that the most used keys are concave, while the function keys are convex (control, fn, opt, cmd, f keys, arrows, etc.).I like the fact that I can plug USB devices directly into the keyboard for a quick link to the mini. This especially comes in handy with the 2 USB-A ports, since the mini does not have any of those ports on the hardware. Keep in mind though that ports on the keyboard are only USB 2.0 capable, so for devices that require higher speed such as SSD’s you may want to plug those into a faster 3.0 port. Macally doesn’t really disclose that they are using a USB 2.0 hub anywhere in the user guide, box, or product page. I’m trusting another reviewer for that one.The Macally Backlit keyboard checks all my boxes of things that I wanted. First and most importantly for me is that is backlit and stays lit the whole time the computer is on, Second it is full size with a numeric keypad, third it has the USB interface (though not necessary it is definitely an added bonus), and last but not least, it is a name brand. Macally has been around since my Power Mac days, so they were familiar to me. It was a name I trusted.

Great for Mac Mini
I used to have a wireless only keyboard. I made the mistake of turning bluetooth off on my Mac Mini before sleeping. I had no way to turn on bluetooth and enter my password. That won't happen again. I'm happy with it overall so far. Long term durability is to be determined. Main thoughts.1. All plastic design top and bottom, albeit very sturdy plastic. Absolutely no flex when typing, feels solid. Metal keyboards are cold to the touch anyways.2. Top and bottom row of keys have a convex bulge. All other keys are convex bowled. I'm indifferent about it, doesn't help or hurt. I'm used to all flat keys.3. The sound of the keys are more mechanical sounding than my Macbook Pro. Especially the space bar. The sound would benefit from the dampening of a metal case, but as is it's maybe 15-20% louder than my MBP. Very tolerable.4. The height of the keys are a little bit higher than my MBP. Sometimes my fingers catch sliding between keys. Takes a little bit to get used to. The size and spacing the the keys is very close to my MBP.5. The usb hub is USB 2.0, which is just fine for flash drives and peripherals. My trackpad works just fine on the usb c port, and my M.2 NVMe ssd works just fine on the usb a ports. Speeds are around 40 MB/S, nothing crazy.

Overall works fine with M2Max MacBook Pro but some slight issues
Overall this works fine to replace my external Apple Keyboard when the "1, Q, A, Z, Cmd" keys stopped working and it was at a decent cost LESS than Apple. I forget it has USB-A & USB-C plugs I can use (that was one other reason I chose this over the less expensive option. I like the Black keys and backlight design (the grey is a plastic, not metal like Apple).I have 3 annoyances with this keyboard. the one that is least offensive is the Clickty-Clack of the keys...my daughter likes the mechanical click sounds but I am not a fan it could be worse so there's that. The Second is they have added an Emoji key...while this can be nice for some it made the first several weeks a pain in the butt trying to use my Keyboard Shortcuts since the Emoji key displaces the Cmd/Opt keys on the right side every so slightly but enough for me to notice. and the FINAL annoyance and one that actually REALLY bugs me is the CAPS LOCK key does NOT have a lighted Dot on the key. There is a Caps Lock light off to the right side but that is something that should be ON the actual key. I have accidentally clicked it and was typing away before realizing it was ALL CAPS.So, those are three issues I have with this keyboard and not much else.

Backlighting
This keyboard KICKS ASS! The size is good. The tactile feedback from the keys is good. The quietness is pretty good, but there's room for improvement. There are however, three shortcomings:1. The 'Command' key should be labeled ⌘ instead of 'cmd/alt'2. The 'Control' key and the 'fn' key should switch places in the bottom left corner so that it matches a Mac Laptop keyboard.3. The backlight glares up at me from under the bottom edges of the keys. This bright horizontal line of light is much brighter than the letters on the keys. Seal it up on the next version!!!-Jeff

Has nice features but ghosts OFTEN.
I had to put grip tape on the feet to keep the device stationary during normal typing. Sometimes for reasons I can't explain, the windows key fails to register any combos, or the cmd/alt key and the opt/win key swap functions. Otherwise it is a very slick KB. The backlighting is nice, and the usb hub is great. I wish it was a bit heavier and had bigger feet. The KB ghosts on several 3 key combo's that are very common in gaming, for example Shift + Ctrl and an arrow key will lock out ANY OTHER input.

keyboard as-described
Keyboard seems high-quality. Some photos appear to be of an older or different model. This current model is has all black keys, and space gray body.

rubber non-tactile feel keyboard.
i had high hopes for this. keyboard with a built in USB hub. the keys don't feel right... they feel rubbery. Not a good tactile feel. There's cheaper keyboards that feel better.
