How Ling does the ice last in the bucket while not in use?

As the ice melts, the melted water is cycled back through the Opal to make delicious, fresh ice as long as the unit is turned on. We hope you choose our Profile Opal for your home. Does it not keep the ice frozen?

Hi - Thank you for your interest in our great Profile Opal ice maker. This unit does not keep the ice frozen. The ice maker will continue to make ice until the bin is full or you run out of water. If the ice is not used it will melt with time and the melted water is then cycled back through to make delicious chewable ice. It is a great addition to any kitchen, game room or home bar. Can the Major Appliance Protection Plan be purchased/added if the ice maker is purchased from the Amazon Used Warehouse?
