I recently bought a pair of boots at Loake's and, having a high instep, I always have problems at first when trying to pull on new boots; however, the sales assistant came to my aid by using a handy tool, the wooden handle boot pull. I asked if I could buy one of the boot pulls only to be advised that they were not available from Loake but could be easily found on Amazon and, after a quick search, I discovered the William Hunter version that looked well-made and suitably robust for my needs. I bought the pair of boot pulls at an excellent price and, having used them on a number of occasions for different pairs of boots with tabs at the rear, I have no hesitation in recommending this product to anyone who wishes to ease the pain of struggling to pull on boots. ...and a big thank you to the sales assistant at Loake's who. clearly, was astute enough to identify what he needed in his sales kit to satisfy customers like me...

They are lightweight yet feel well constructed. Perfectly designed for what they were made for. The ends of the hooks are flat and wide to easily slide into your boots' pull tabs. Yet they are not sharp at all, so if you accidentally hit your legs with them while trying to grab the pull, you won't feel a thing. As I said earlier, they are perfect for what they were made for. Now that said, I had them with me during a very recent camping trip, so I can easily put on my boots without having to fidget with them when getting out of my tent. I just so happened that I was cooking on fire, and the handles on my pot got so hot, and just so happened, I had those hooks literally on the table. So I was like, hmmm, they are perfect for handling hot pots. I used them to successfully move my pot from the fire pit to my bench. Again, they are perfect for what they were designed for, and they were certainly not designed for that! So I don't know the weight limit and so on, but they did work without any issues. My guess is that they can be used for so many things, and not just for pulling your boots on. I love them; they are handy and useful. I highly recommend them.

I've always hated tall boots, anything taller than 6" and didn't have side-zip put a lot of strain on my ankles, knees and fingers to put them on. Now with this hook, tall boots are like slip on shoes. Just slip it in the back loop, then pull firmly as you push you foot down into your boot. You get two of them for one order, and that adds some value. I would recommend for anyone that struggles to but on tall boots.
