I'm a "prosumer" mechanic who has used diagnostic tools for years. I bought a CRP129X scanner in 2021 and have gotten much use out of it. It came with 5 years of update, so it's still relevant if slow. This Launch X431 CRP919E addresses many of the issues I had with the old unit. It is faster, more responsive, and has a better screen. The functionality for older cars is the same, and there are many new bidirectional functions.It's important to know that while 2 years of updates for free, there is no option to purchase updates after the 2 years though you can continue to use it without renewing the subscription."CRP919E supports updates for 2 years worthy for 300, and even after the update expires, the latest version before the expiration can still be used normally, and will not affect normal use."This is an excellent scanner for the DIYer working on 1996 and newer cars and trucks. It makes life much easier and is money well spent.

As an do it yourself guy this has saved me hours of trouble shooting and buying needless parts. Easily paid for itself.

I like how it is user friendly. I wish it was Bluetooth instead of being corded, but for the price it's a great tool!!! I've used it on many makes and models, no issue using the auto vin detect on any of them. The service functions are easy to get to and everything is laid out nice!!Definitely recommend!!!

so far not very useable. ave your money and look for something better

I like how easy to use this scan tool is. It automatically connects to every car I’ve tried it with, and has had every function and reset I have needed. It even allows you to graph 8 data PIDs at once.
