Man Mug Double Walled, 16.9 Ounce, Stainless Steel Mug with Lid

The mug looks great and functions as intended. Some have stated it is not vacuum insulated. Mine was. I can see where the confusion could occur though. In theory vacuum insulation would mean the outside surface stays at room temperature while the inside surface is beverage temperature. However, with this mug the outside wall temperature DOES change. This is because heat travels along the metal.I filled a regular double walled mug and this mug at the same time with 10oz hot coffee. The non-vacuum double walled mug became warmer immediately and evenly on the entire outside surface. The Man Mug however first started becoming warmer at the outside top, where coffee did not touch. Over time the heat traveled down the outside. The last part of the mug to get warm was the bottom. As the heat traveled through the metal it dissipated so much that the temperature on the bottom barely budged beyond room temperature. I used an IR thermometer after 5 minutes. The coffee was at 140F, the metal inside the mug directly above the coffee was 120F. The metal on the rim was 100F, outside top 90, outside middle 85, outside bottom 82. Ambient room temp was 78F.Overall, it significantly out-performs ceramic. This mug works as designed and I am quite pleased. Those looking for better thermal efficiency should stick to vacuum insulated travel mugs with lids which can keep a beverage hot MUCH longer.For beer drinkers, if it's not cold by the time you finish, you're drinking too slowly!

Bought this mug on a whim with little expectations but thought it looked decent.I was very surprised to find that it works quite well and I've been using every night since i got it.Beer, mixed drinks, even water seems to stay cooler for a longer period of time with out chilling your hand.I usually keep this mug in my keezer ready for use whenever i like, this might be a factor as well.I was interested by how touching the outside you feel a slight chill but not uncomfortable to hold, howeverif you touch the inside you realize there is a great temp. difference which means it has some sort of barrierand discourages heat transfer.Only con i see is the stainless is a little discolored on the rings on the outside, looks a little burnt or brown, and the seem for the handle construction is easily visible but its purely aestheticso it doesn't have any impact on use. Still love this mug!

I bought this mug because i was tired of my beers getting warm before i could finish them, and this thing fit the bill perfectly! First off, the packaging is awesome and really sets a good impression for the quality of the product. The mug has a good feel and the handle is sturdily attached and plenty room even for larger hands. Double wall insulation means heat from your hand will not transfer to your beverage and vise-versa, and also no sweating present on the mug. Has more than enough capacity (just over 16 oz.) to hold a 12 oz beer with a nice head. Initially, I was worried my beer would be accompanied by a tinny aftertaste due to the metallic construction, but im happy to report that was not the case (just make sure you give it a good run through the dishwasher; and yes it's dishwasher safe, or hand wash). I was also pleasantly surprised to find a lid accompanying the mug which is perfect for use as a coffee mug as well, although don't expect it to be leak-proof, as tipping it inadvertently will cause the mugs contents to runneth over, even when the lid is in the closed position. This is a minor quibble for me for an otherwise excellent mug and certainly not enough to warrant knocking a star off. Overall Excellent product, highly recommended!

This review is to combat all the liars - hence why I gave it one star so you could read the truth. It holds 17 fluid ounces. A pint of Guinness pours into it perfectly, with the head leveling off and not spilling over. It keeps your beer cold to the last drop. Quality construction with no welding marks, mars or scratches. The handle is well sized - not too narrow. It's lighter than a glass of equal size. The lip is smooth and tapers off nicely to give it a nice mouth feel. When you drink out of it, people see Man Mug and a mustache printed on the bottom. Overall, the most impressive part is that it keeps your beer impressively chilled.

This is a great looking mug, the brushed stainless steel look is awesome. However, it has 2 issues...first it leaks. If you tilt it back to get a drink of coffee with lid on, it will leak all the way down your shirt. I've done this 3x already, enough of that. 2nd issue, it does not keep coffee hot. I don't know about ice and keeping it cold, but a hot cup of coffee (200 degrees) brewed into the mug, then put lid on, will only stay hot for an hour at most. Coffee cools considerably as it sits, to lukewarm after 1 hour. I wanted to use this mug for work to keep coffee hot for awhile but it didn't work out. I will add this mug to my coffee tree at home (without the lid) because I love the look and feel.

Its a really cool mug and I know my husband is going to love it when he sees it on fathers day but when I pulled it out of the box I immediately noticed the handle. The whole thing is shiny and perfect looking but the handle, it is so scuffed up its almost black in spots. If it weren't for that I would give it 5 stars, but a gross handle just makes it look tacky.

This mug was bought for my husband who always keeps a drinking vessel in the freezer, ready for his next beverage. We stayed up late watching the meteor shower last week and after we slept late the following day I found his mug in the living room, and inside there was ice. I estimate it had melted about half way. Not bad for an 80 degree room after several hours! The double wall construction works to keep table tops free of rings, and the beverage cold. I am back to buy two more for the other men in our family. May 2016 addendum: I returned for another Man Mug and when it arrived it had a lid, a pleasant surprise. I now have a Mug in the freezer at all times ready for my husband's next beverage. The quality is still superb!
