CoCo Brew, Espresso Knock Box Durable 4.7 Inch, Barista Style Sturdy Shock-Absorbent Knockbox - Dishwasher Safe (Grey)

A few years ago, I gifted one I liked better but haven't been able to find it, and after looking at dozens, settled on this one. It isn't my perfect knock box, but seems like one of the better options. It is a sturdy plastic and the bar fits into notches so you can remove it easily to clean without having to unscrew any ends or pull out of holes. It is large enough to hold several pucks. It is larger than a standard coffee cup, and maybe about the size of a really big fat coffee mug. I would not want to go smaller. It has enough room to knock and not have coffee fall outside the box. The bar seems sturdy and I think the covering it will hold up over time. The color was more gray than the black I expected, but not a bad color. All in all, a good purchase that I recommend.

Some of this is captured in the other reviews. The foam covering the knock bar cracked almost immediately. I use a Breville espresso and its okay at leaving a puck so not really knocking all that hard. But after a few weeks at maybe 3-5 espressos a week, the rubber split. Fast forward to 3 months, maybe 50 uses and it started falling apart. Second challenge is its just not very big. If we have company and I knock out 3-4 espresso shots, it empty early time. Lastly, not sure why it does this, but it sprays everywhere. I have a less costly one at the office and the knock bar has no issue after a year and seldom splashes and it was $10 vs. this one at $20.Summary: It's good looking, super easy to clean, the bar stays in place, the canister is seemingly durable, but the knock bar rubber is not. The sides are either not tall enough or something else is amiss as there's a significant amount of splash. It could be the distance from the knock bar to the back of the container is too narrow, or it's too short in the back, but ultimately, I would not recommend as there are better options available.

Looked at a few but this is the one that caught me. Its a very nice looking unit. Excellent design - non slip base that absorbs shock; easy to clean; great size; looks nice on the kitchen counter (I don't have to hide it away!).Yes, knock boxes are simple things but there is a quiet elegance about this particular one. Nice job CoCo Brew! Love it!

I really like this product, it seems fairly sturdy and has not cracked in the past month and a half with extremely heavy use and does not show any signs of wear. It is very easy to clean and compact. The biggest concern is that the foam surrounding the metal cylinder is made of a cheaper feeling foam. Definitely serves our needs well though and would recommend for someone interested in buying this product.

This is an excellent knock box with a padded bar that makes the process as low in sound as possible (but it is still quite loud). It is also deep enough to prevent splatter on the counter top and walls. I tried a knock box designed without a bar, and even thought the concept was great, my portal filter was so well packed that it was much more difficult to eject the puck of coffee grounds. Stay with a knock box with a bar.

Man I love this thing. My husband and I are a lazy coffee loving people. We leave the knock box on the counter until full then empty it into the trash maybe once a week. You do have to be a bit careful when emptying. If you hit it just right, the bar will pop out. After emptying, the unit comes clean with a quick rinse.

Looks good, love that the knock bar comes off to clean and empty container. Rubber ring on bottom of container keeps it seated on my counter. Only wish this were a bit larger, have to aim the portafilter head just right to not break the coffee puck over the knock bar instead of directly into the container (if that makes sense).

I was afraid that the box wasn't heavy enough and would move when knocked. It works just fine. My only reservation is that the rubberized bar stays dented from the slots it sits in.
