I purchased this product 1 year ago. In 30 years of automotive repair I had not run into copper coated aluminum primary wire - And I did not notice the fine print for this item. I own a busy automotive repair shop and make electrical repairs daily. I noticed "come-backs" with failed connections about 8 months after the repair- the wire had corroded and either lost connection or become completely detached from the connectors. This happened with both soldier and crimp connections. I have found this to be the case in over 25 repairs at this point--An Automotive repair shop worst nightmare!!Stay away from these products! Use copper primary wire only!

I had previously purchased a nice combo set of pure copper wire from Amazon, but when it was no longer available, I followed the amazon suggestion and purchased this combination pack. But its Copper Clad Aluminum (CCA), which I can bet just about nobody buying it off Amazon realizes what that means. Its also not 16ga AWG (they don't say what standard this '16ga' wire is). So its not even as thick as AWG either. So its REALLY not meant to run power of any sort. They specifically list trailer wiring as a use, and I would guess that its barely sufficient for that if you using incandescent light, and probably fine for LED, but anyone who uses it in place of where traditional 16ga AWB Copper wire is spec'd is in for a nasty surprise.

This is the perfect set of wires for any hobbiest or anyone that works on cars electronics frequently. The multiple colors makes it easier for me when I'm creating new stereo harnesses and keeps things neat and easy to identify. I haven't had to order any more wire for a few months now and still have plenty. Will order again when the time comes. Great stuff, holds up well and isn't coated cheap so no cracks or easy breaks.

A few years ago I ordered (10) rolls, assorted colors, of primary wire bearing the name “db Link” for use in my shop.Internally broken, corroded, and intermittent continuity (shorts) have literally cost me thousands of dollars worth of labor hours spent troubleshooting, comebacks, redoing entire vehicle harnesses etc. Second order of this brand, so far zero problems.

These are pretty good quality wires. If you use these wires for projects and automotive projects that are not subject to weather exposure and high/sensitive current useage then these wires are perfect choice; otherwise, go with full copper strand wires at a higher price with much less worry about corrosion.

I have had this wire for about 1 year now and for most things it performs okay. I used it to wire up some auxiliary LED back-up lights on my truck and the ground wire keeps breaking at the crimp on connector about every 2 months. Does not perform well in this environment. All of my soldered and heat shrunk connections have worked fine.

Covering of the wire began melting before the shrink wrap was fully contracted. Did not use for fear of electrical fire. Copper Clad is also an interesting thing, something about that process made cutting it difficult because the strands would partially weld themselves to my wire cutters (Klein, not dollar store) which would break the strands when trying to remove. Just, honestly, im trying to think of a positive comment for this product, and all I can think of is the colors on the wire were very nice, so if youre using them for crafts and not any kind of mechanical application where they will be used as wire, could be a good buy.

Read the full description, not just the listing header. It doesn’t disclose in the listing that this is CCA wire, luckily for me I’m only going to use it for wiring in low current 12 VDC lights, still had I noticed that it’s NOT pure copper wire I wouldn’t have bought it.

Wire melts under low voltage low amps very unsafe but a major fire hazard. Well product is amazing if you are a Piro and like to burn things down then this the product for you lol.

Did not used them yet but they seem to be the made from good quality material
