WOW! Amazing Grass Seed!!
My wife and I moved into our dream home in the summer of 2019. We built new construction in a beach area on a 2 acre lot. to no surprise, once construction was complete, we were left with a bare lot of very SANDY soil, I mean it was just short of being on the beach itself although we were 15 min away. We've built new construction 2x before but not in a beach area. Planting new grass in sandy soil was new to us and we were very uncertain. We moved in at approximately the same time as two other neighbors in our cul-de-sac. They both completely had their properties (2 acres ) completely ripped out and new top soil brought in summer of 2019 $$$. They thought I was crazy for not doing the same. I trusted my research... finally deciding on this product. Needless to say, we are now in spring 2020 and this Kentucky 31 Tall Fescue is showing off!! It's beautiful, emerald green and thick! My lawn almost looks as though it's been established and pampered for several seasons. Loving this grass seed. worth every penny.

This grass seed is amazing
This grass seed is amazing. I planted 2 lawns with this and both look great. It germinates well and came in nice and thick. I'm anxious to see how it holds up to the summer heat here in NC.

not worth it
This seed is total garbage. I planted 100lbs of this dead seed and only about 10% of the seed germinated. At the same time in a different location in my yard I panted 40 lbs of Pennington Smart Seed and the whole are had beautiful soft grass in two weeks. I have bought more Pennington and reseeded the areas that I planted this seed and again all the seed germinated. This seed is total garbage, most of the seed I planted was dried out and dead. Do yourself a favor and by quality seed like Pennington Smart Seed, don't waste your money on this crap

Worked good
I planted the Kentucky 31 Tall Fescue the first week of November of 2018. A week later it snowed and the ground remained covered in snow, deep snow, until spring of 2019. I first saw signs of grass around mid-late April. These photos were taken on June 22, 2019. Two months ago this was all dirt!I started my lawn project by first killing the weeds (yard was 10% grass and 90% weeds). Then, by hand, I raked the soil and loosened it to a depth of 2-3 inches. Next, using a Broadcast Spreader, I spread the seed at the recommended rate of 8-10 lbs per 1000 sq ft and then lightly raked it into the soil (very poor soil). Finally, it was up to Mother Nature to do her thing.I live in Teton County Idaho elevation 6200 feet. The summers are cool, dry, and short. I'm very pleased with the results and looks as if all my hard work is paying off. I would recommend this seed to others who may have similar conditions.

Great for what I wanted
Ok I have front yard with random wild grass and clovers on Hard Maryland compacted dirt. I disregarded all grass growing strategy. I bought this Kentucky 31 Tall Fescue in July 2016, way past the lawn making-season in Late July/Aug I evenly sprinkled it down on top of everything without preparing soil nor scratching up anything, I let nature rain on it so I never watered it, and I just hoped for the best. Welp, this grass seed grew. It's fine and light green and looks very pretty. Now I don't suggest this method but for me who hates outdoor gardening or anything to do with it, this grass seed worked for me.

Growing well when fed
I'm in zone 7A. I overseeded in November 2017 my lawn that was totally taken over by crabgrass. I did no preparation at all just spread the seed. Nothing happened all winter. In February 2018 when I saw the seeds sprouting I spread Scotts Turf Builder Starter Food for New Grass Plus Weed Preventer. In a couple of weeks and a few rains the grass took off and is a thick dark green. In areas I didn't use the fertilizer the grass is weak and struggling. I'm not a big fan of commercial fertilizer but it gave the new grass the boost it needed. So if your grass is weak it might need to be fed.
