This is the third chew of this kind we have given to our nine month older border collie. The first two were purchased from a pet shop And we’re excellent and safe. This one was large but broke into sharp pieces that could have punctured our dog’s intestines. He was sick bringing up shards of razor sharp pieces of antler. I was more than disappointed I was somewhat shocked. I won’t ever purchase this product again! I do not recommend it purely from a safety aspect.

Now if my dogs were to write this review, I'll be honest and say they'd probably give the antler chews a 5... but then again they'd give eating horse poo a 5 too. These lasted a day and were pretty much all gone within a few hours. They did keep my dogs entertained for a little while, but they were not large - in fact, quite the opposite, they were really small, and they were very expensive for what they were. I spent about a tenner each on these, thinking of it as an investment and something they would be able to chew for weeks. I was so disappointed to hoik the remnants of one of the antlers out of my bed the next morning and realise that they were already gone. Such an expensive afternoon's entertainment for two spaniels. Very enjoyable for the dogs, but absolutely not worth the money for something so small that barely lasts 5 minutes.

I was very disappointed with this antler. I have bought several I the past as my dog loves them so I decided this time to buy a large one - when it arrived it was a very odd shape with mostly a long pointy bit which she doesn't like - she prefers the thicker sections to gnaw at. It also didn't look any bigger than the medium sized ones I have previously purchased so I weighed it. The size on the ticket stated approx. 151-220g - this one weighed 149g! Wont be buying again!

Having purchased this product online recently, we noticed that there are some pink/red flecks on the surface – does this mean the antler is relatively fresh?After our German Shepherd had chewed through part of the antler some shards became separated and these are very sharp and quite hard.We are very concerned that these pieces are likely to be a choking or serious digestion hazard for our dog.We have bought her numerous antlers in the past from pet shops but they’ve never splintered off pieces like this.The product ad specifically says they’re intended for German Shepherds and ours is a 3 year old (not a puppy).

I brought my boy 1 of these antler things ages ago when he was a pup. It wasn't like this one and just looked a bit like a thick stick. He has never been interested in the 1st antler, it's still 100% in tacked now after about 4 n a half years.When I brought him this one, he really showed a great interest and couldn't wait to get his nashers round it which I was surprising after turning his nose up at the 1st 1 I got him.There's not many indestructible bones, chew toys around that can outstand my labradors pearly white's but this is extremely durable even after he's spent hours chewing & grinding his teeth on and has really helped keep his teeth clean. The only issue I've noticed is that when it's been gnawed on the edges are extremely sharp so I would file those down so they don't cause a mouth injury to your pooch.

I first bought an antler chew from a well known large pet shop and was gutted by the price but also really keen to find a chew my doberman x puppy didn't destroy within minutes.He loved it so I checked Amazon for the same thing. It was far cheaper to buy from this seller and the product just as great. Only marked at as 3 stars for longevity as I was advised they should last month's, however my pup consumes them within weeks. Nothing to do with the quality of the product though. Just bought another one from this seller :-)

My dogs are loving this. It does seem to wear more than the more cylindrical antlers (sorry I don't know the technical terms) so for that reason I have it a 3/5 for longevity. I have it a 4/5 for value for money because it is a bit pricey and I don't seem this lasting long but the dogs are really enjoying it so I would buy again.
