General Tools Contour Gauge 833 - 10" Angle Finder Tool for Home Improvement - Gadgets for Men

This contour/profile gauge is very useful!! I have used so far it to fit carpet tiles around the doors and trim by my back door - it made the job so much easier and more precise! I got this to help with corners and door jambs for a flooring project. This works great to get the angles and edges right. It has a sharp edge that you put on the ground so you can trace easily on the wood you are cutting. This was perfect for my project!

All in all, this is a great tool, it will get a lot of use from me and I would recommend. The one issue I had was with some of the measurements in my particular application. I needed to get the edge of the tool up to some boards, but couldn't because of the large plastic piece at the top and bottom. May be a common thing with this type of tool. I was able to work around it, but a lower profile would be nice. I don't think this will be a problem for all uses of the tool.

Doing some household trim and this is a great tool for figuring out angles and weird cuts.

The end-caps are so thick they get in the way with crown molding, wood window sashes, etc so it really limits what I can use it for. It helped with a raised panel door, but accuracy was still iffy so I had to take tons of measurement attempts to have any confidence. There are probably better ways to take a cast with more accuracy.

Im not great at measuring things sometimes. This took the guess work out& saved money in the long run. Correct cuts=no waste. If you are doing your own dyi projects, add this to your tool box!

Gave this to my husband for Christmas. He has so many tools but was really impressed with this handy item. No need to spend more, this one works great and is made of durable, high quality materials.

I purchased 2 of these since I read they can be hooked together to make them longer, and yes they can even though its not mentioned in the add. Well worth the price and will be used in my garage a decent amount. Oh on another note the pins on mine were not red but grey not that really matters. Pros, -Lightweight -Interlockable -pins are not huge. -pins don't scratch surfaces. Cons -the shape can be messed up easily unlike the smaller metal one I have that is tuff to move pins. -one of the 2 seemed to be missing a pin so the will shift from left to right some nothing major.
