SIMPLY AMAZING!
Five stars. I have a skylight in a cathedral ceiling fifteen feet up and attempting to open and close the shade is a joke. This new solution is amazing. They will ship whichever measurements you provide, so I recommend measuring 5+ times and being as close as possible to avoid fitment issues or gaps. Be sure to assemble and TEST the unit BEFORE attempting installation!!!! I thoroughly tested every aspect of this shade prior to installation. Walk yourself through the installation steps in a test setting. You certainly do not want to be up on a ladder trying to "figure it out". I found the installation instructions and videos very clear. Reviews here also helped a lot. Being fifteen feet in the sky I went with the solar panel unit. Again, TEST before installation. I had zero issues with testing or during installation. I also went with the Tuya smart plug, which is HIGHLY recommended. While "neat" that you can use Alexa or Google to verbally open and close the shade, the real feature is the ability to create a routine to have the shade open and close on specific schedules. Both the Tuya app and Alexa routine DOES allow you to open/close the shade to specific percentages, even on routines. That is pretty wild. I set my schedule to close at a specific time at night and open at a specific time in the afternoon. The instructions for the Tuya setup were quite clear and there is a QR code on the side of the device to obtain instructions. Once I paired the shade with the Tuya app I tested (prior to installation) the functions. Alexa then picked up the new device and I tested every scenario. Measure carefully! If your window is very high, go with the solar panel. If you want automation, go with the Tuya smart plug - although using the remote every day is easy enough if you want to go that route. Most important of all - TEST functions and assembly PRIOR to installation, I cannot stress that enough. Understand HOW this all works and fits together. That will make life easy for you once you are up on a ladder :) Five stars

very good quality and reasonable price
The framework is very solid and the remote control is very convenient. The skylight blinds can totally blackout the lights. My daughter enjoys the feeling of remoting control the skylight window. I bought the charging style one and the seller provided me free 5 metres additional charging line. perfect seller!

Legit skylight shade
I have two skylights in my bedroom and had ordered a Zebrablind solar motorized shade to see how it worked a few years ago. It was just "OK", but then life got in the way and Zebrablind went out of business before I could order the second. I spent a bit of time researching other options and landed on this ZSTARR shade. I'm so glad I tried this product! It is better in every way than the Zebrablind shade, to the point where I'll be replacing the Zebrablind shade with another one of these. What I like: 1. Quality parts/motor/solar panel/battery 2. True "blackout", with almost zero light leakage (and I'm being super-picky here by saying "almost zero" - for my sensitivity, it's perfectly blacked out). 3. Less than half the price of the Zebrablind 4. Very fast shipping. I paid for expedited, and the shade arrived in about a week. 5. The side rails have long "Archimedes" style screws with tabs that the shade ends slot into. This design is far superior to just relying on cords, which my original skylight has and has already begun acting up. What could be improved: 1. The instructions, even with the video, are not super clear. Do yourself a favor and lay out the shade on the floor for a few days before you install it so that you can practice and "get" it before you're high up on a ladder working overhead. 2. There's a helper cord in the middle that winds up as the shade rolls up/down. I had to fiddle with this a bit to get it right. It was probably my fault when I unrolled the shade when I was practicing on the ground, but it was an unexpected thing to try to fix when I was up on the ladder. 3. The final trim cover doesn't have a good way to attach. I could try and drill some holes on the laughably narrow edge and screw it in, but that would ruin the clean look. I opted to use some double-sided tape, but I'm not loving that idea as the piece is 15' above my head and you need to remove the trim if you need to service, so you don't want to over-tape it. Still not sure what I'll do with this, and I don't like that it's on my mind. 4. The power cord from the solar panel connects to the motor in the worst possible place, very close to the spinning shaft/coupler mechanism. I kind of taped it up out of the way, but I could see this being an issue at some point and may have to go back and secure it better. Again, I don't like that I'm still thinking about this. Some tips: 1. The long "Archimedes" screws in the side rails were fine, but not as smooth as I felt they could be. I sprayed some lubricant in each and worked them a bit and they got smoother. 2. The skylight ships about 1/8" undersized, which is good as it gives you a little room to work. And the frame is made in a way that the 1/8" is masked at the end. However, the rail endcaps are grey, and you see this from the ground. I used some white electrical tape to around the grey bits. It's a little janky, but at 15' high, you don't notice. 3. I just used double-sided tape to attached the solar panel. It's very light, and it attaches by a short cord. Even if the tape fails, there's near-zero risk of anything happening unless you're super unlucky and it jams in the blind as its retracting (unlikely). 4. Definitely read the other reviewers for some good tips. So in short, I think this is real quality product that I would consider on the higher end of skylight shades. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could. I'm not giving it 5 because of the couple of things I mentioned. I did also order the hub but I haven't set that up yet. I'll come back and edit this in case I find anything worth commenting on.

Great product, bad instructions
This is a great product, but the QR code-linked instructions that come with it are for the wrong blinds. Look instead on YouTube using the exact product name.

Well engineered, but issues with solar panel and Tuya hub
The blinds are well engineered and well made -- but there are two issues with the solar panel installation: 1. the screws provides to attach the panel are worse than useless -- having drilled holes for the screws they break when screwing into the aluminum cover (yes they are so crappy that they can't tap a hole in aluminum) 2. there is no clean way to get the power cable from the solar panel to the motor assembly without drilling a hole large enough for a USB-C plug. 3. The Tuya hub provided is not at all versatile (all blinds operate in unison) -- for the same price you can get a fully functional Tuya hub which provides far more flexibility. With that said I am happy with the end result having had to use my own screws to attach the solar panel.

Shade works great
easy to install using you tube instructions, those included were unclear. don't install the solar unit with screws, they will stop the operation.
