DOT — Chefs’ Favorite Simple Alarm Thermometer - Dove Grey

I picked up the ThermoWorks Chef’s Favorite Simple Thermometer a few weeks ago and it has already become one of the most reliable tools in my kitchen. The readings are incredibly fast and consistently accurate, which makes a huge difference when I am checking temperatures on chicken, steak, and baked goods. The display is bright and easy to read even in lower light, and the overall build quality feels solid in a way that tells you it will last. What I appreciate most is how effortless it is to use. There is no complicated setup or unnecessary features. You turn it on, it gives you a precise reading, and you can trust the result. That level of simplicity paired with real accuracy is exactly what I want from a kitchen thermometer. After using it on multiple meals, I can say it performs exactly as advertised and then some. It has taken all the guesswork out of cooking and has genuinely improved my results. This is an outstanding product and absolutely worth it.

This works perfectly and is easy to use. So far it’s improved my sourdough bread baking and ensured my prime rib was medium rare. Both require a higher temperature (450-500 degree.) The cord is long and durable and has no trouble being pinched between the oven and oven door with the dot/temperature display portion sitting on the counter. The timer is loud enough to be heard from another room. I highly recommend.

I wanted a small oven thermometer and love my thermopen 1 so I got this despite some marginal opinions in the reviews. My opinion so far is it's perfect for my needs. Compact, simple to set alarm temp. Intuitive and it only has 3 buttons so how hard can ot be. 1 push per degree or hold down to run fast, up or down. Reads the same temp as my thermopen 1. It's slower, but it isn't an instant read, its for watching temp in the oven. Magnets are strong enough to secure to my microwave cabinet. Not the door, that's stainless and is non-magnetic. My experience is it's perfect for the price! If it fails or has a major flaw I'll update this but glad I bought it now.

I love this thermometer! After years of using the old metal clip on candy thermometers I finally upgraded to ThermoWorks. The DOT works well for candy making and it was super nice not to have to calibrate it or wonder if it was accurate. I make marshmallows and as with any candy making, the temperature needs to be precise. The alarm feature is a help as well so I could set the temp and go about my business. No more squinting and trying to figure out was that 130 or 140? I did buy a silicone pot clip but didn't use it for the marshmallows. I've also used the DOT when I make yogurt. The cultures die above certain temps and this has taken the guesswork out of that. I purchased a small hard shell case from Glcon (here on Amazon) that matches my DOT. Also the magnet is strong and works well to keep the DOT in place!

Love the convenience, seems accurate. The alarm is loud enough for me. Only drawback is when changing the temp, I have to push button for each degree, can't just hold it down to set up or down.

Very accurate and easy to use. Love that! It's simple, I had another one that you had to use a manual to figure out. ( and it still didn't work right) Pulled the rib roast at 115°, left the probe in and watched it. Rise to 128° over 20 minutes. Pretty cool. Definitely worth the money.

Very good product. I am on my 2nd one. the first ine got melted due to a novice putting it on the hot part of the grill. It is easily seen, has 2 temps and no battery to have to charge. the probe is long enough to reach into latge cuts of meat. Accuracy to a T. Every cook using this has come out right on!. You will not be disappointed and will have decades of accurate, no hassle cooking. No others for me and I have a drawer full.

We've been thru a lot of food thermometers, this is by far the best.

It is fine device. It looks very solid. Is has sound alarm for heatin up. But, unfortunatelly, no allarm for cooling down. You cannot use it to cool down to a set temperature. No use to me. This should had been explained better.

Perfect - fast readings, easy to use. Battery lasts well.

Worked for only 3 months. Shouldn’t have to take the Dot apart and get soldering tools etc… It should last longer, it was not dropped and was used as advertised. Past the return window, will have to pay more money to get a replacement from another company.
