Built very well. The charging method is worth a lot on rechargeable items. The microusb (sp?) ports always fail. The magnet is the way to go. Plus the battery is replaceable. Functions are great. One push on and off plus it comes back on at the same level it was at, except turbo comes on as high and high comes on as medium. I like that feature, as it saves battery and I don’t usually need more than medium. I’ll buy another when I need a second one.

If I were working as a mechanic, I'm just not sure where I would want to use this light. I'm going through several videos trying to see where this would fit into my life. I have some wave on / wave off super light strip type lights that I use for mechanical work, and if I break one - it won't hurt as much . I'm not sure I want to beat this up under a car or in the garage. The battery is a big 18650 and the light will also work without their proprietary one. Hiking and Biking is where this light shines! Pun intended, It's a little on the heavy side, if you take it off the head band you a have a pretty powerful flashlight. Has a red emitter, a good magnet on the end, so yes, you could use this as a mechanic, but I'd worry about dropping it and chemicals . I think the 4.7 is an honest rating. I own many other Olights, Arkfield Pro, Baton Pro, Marauder mini, to name a few. . I'm just not sure where this fits into my life. If I had a motorcycle, that could be a nice touch. I'm trying to see where other people are using this. The information on the light itself is vast. So, very good hand held 90° light and headlamp, Most likely an outdoor hiking / biking setting, I hope that helps. With that said, Yes, the light is awesome! (*powerful nice battery) I looked up Perun just for you ^ 1 year edit: it's been useful, I've used it for peeling out cut vinyl wrap, staining tables, laying polyurethane on wood, very good hands free headlight, glad to have it

Built like a tank, has the features you want in a headlamp, is SUPER bright, and battery is replaceable and lasts a really long time. I will be using this primarily for automotive and home project work, so the red light is cute but won't get a ton of use. It also includes an SOS light pattern mode that works in either white or red light mode (although how you activate it is slightly different). The head strap is a little tough to get adjusted initially but once it's set, it's not budging. I'd recommend setting it a tiny bit tighter than you're comfortable with so that the headlamp doesn't move when you do. Very happy with it.

Finally! Finally after searching and searching i finally found my perfect headlamp! Ive tried multiple brands from Klein, to Milwaukee to Braun from Harbor Freight and they all were great while the battery lasted. There's nothing more frustrating than being mid job at a customer's house when everything goes dark. This headlamps battery is absolutely fantastic! I can finally do my work confidently knowing I have more than sufficient battery life and not to mention brightness! This thing gets crazy bright when in turbo. Do I wish it was USB C and not a proprietary charger? Absolutely. But the trade off is oh so worth it. Just charge it the night before and forget about it. I cannot give this light more praise especially the fact it has a pocket clip AND is magnetic. Thank you Olight for finally giving me the headlamp I kept searching for

So far, I love everything OLight makes. This particular one is super flexible and can be used a number of different ways with the right-angle light orientation. The light is small and easy to pocket by itself, has a strong magnetic base that allows it to stick to metal when it isn’t mounted to the head elastic (amazing for working in the back of a pickup where it can stick magnetically to the inside of the truck bed and light things up 90 degrees from its base rather than than blinding the operator and only partially illuminating the cargo as a straight magnetic light would do), and is very versatile, bright and long-lasting. The head mount is great for relatively low intensity activities like examining / changing a tire, setting up camp, etc. where you need hands free, but I’m not sure I’d want to go on a long nighttime trail run because of the weight and potentially need to reposition. Small super lightweight headlamps like Black Diamond or Biolite are probably better for that specific application. In any event, OLights are amazing and you should buy any the look useful for what you need.
