Took a guess on what I needed to prepare lab slides for study. Opted for glass and not plastic. These slides work great and like how there is tissue paper between the slides making it easy to remove from the box.

I wanted these for 'cutting' and constructing miniature 1:120 scale windows, and needed to try the 1mm-thick glass. These work like a charm for my purposes. Most buyers will probably want them for microscopy, though, and all I can say is that the slides in the protected section of the box seemed to me to be pretty clean and optically clear. Additionally, I almost forgot to mention, there are thin slips of paper in between each slide to keep them from rubbing against one another, so that does reduce the change of chipping or scoring.I can't say much else because, as mentioned, I bought mine used for a low price because Amazon was totally clear about their condition, and my box looked like it'd had a run-in with a box knife and some water, so it was no longer a box, Heh! =;-) , *BUT* that being said, it was multilayered and looked like it would protect the contents under normal conditions. Since was pretty beat-up, many of the slides had escaped into the bag, resulting in a few chipped slides and a few broken ones; however, there was less damage than one would assume, given that they were running loose during shipping - so they seem to be sturdy enough. And, the ones inside the remains of the box certainly seemed to be as good as any slides I'd used back when I was working in Bacteriology, so my guess is that a New box of the slides would be pretty good.

Great price for the number of slides. Been using them to study some samples in our homeschool biology class. Nice purchase.

This worked. Wonderful to preserve snowflakes. I'm still learning how to do that but it worked extremely well.

I have a microscope. I didn't have any slides or covers, these fit the bill and do as they should. I am not sure how a "professional" would feel about the quality, but from a nerdy untrained microbiologist I think they are just perfect :)
