Fireproof and waterproof. You need a key and the code to get into each area. It’s very attractive looking as well. Very easy to set up. Very roomy in the inside.

Starter Safe With Some Features
The box contained one Karbeen Safe Box that had a built-in digital keypad, keys, lag bolts, instructions and a supplemental power pack case to power the keypad in case of dead batteries. Kudos to Karbeen for actually suppling lag bolts knowing it has to be anchored, and extra key in case you lose one and the supplemental battery pack and, even a small light inside the safe. The lockout function works by entering an incorrect code 3 times and the keys work. It can take two different combinations and I have entered them for a few weeks now using the digital keypad and it has worked each time. The keypad does feel like it is weak plastic and could break if I tried. The walls are made of metal and are about 3/16 on the back that will provide no fire protection. Meaning, if the safe is engulfed in fire the contents will eventually ignite. The outside powder coating came heavily chipped in a couple areas, but I won't lose any sleep over that. This is not a high end safe, but you get some decent features for your money. Locks are made to keep honest people honest. The features of this safe will only deter a thief for a short while, but it will still deter them none the less. However, as of 10-23-2023 Microsoft Edge automatically found a $40.00 off coupon that would make it much more appealing of a purchase!Update 10-19-24, combination safe continues to work without any failures.

Sturdy safe to keep your smaller valuables safe
I bought this safe for my 18 year old son for Christmas. He keeps his car keys, wallet and money from his job in this safe. It's heavy as in solid. My son loves it. He was able to set it up quickly and he has it stored on the floor in his closet. It's not flimsy. This safe works exceptionally well.
