J-B Weld Light-Activated Superglue, Clear, 5g, 2-Pack

There are two kinds of glue in this world. The first kind bonds your fingers together instantly while doing absolutely nothing for the object you’re trying to fix. The second kind is this stuff. I’ve bought this JB Weld UV glue about ten times now, which is either a glowing endorsement or a sign that I keep breaking things at a concerning rate. Probably both. Here’s the magic trick: it doesn’t dry on its own. At first, that feels wrong, like buying ice that refuses to be cold. You sit there thinking, “Is this ever going to set?” Then you hit it with the UV light and—boom—it locks up instantly like it just remembered it has a job to do. No waiting, no clamping, no staring at it for 20 minutes wondering if you’ve made a huge mistake. Public service announcement: do not, under any circumstances, get this on your fingers and then hit it with the UV light unless you’ve always wanted to experience what it’s like to be permanently introduced to yourself. This is not theoretical advice. Now here’s the part I didn’t expect—the little UV light that comes attached? It snaps off pretty easily, which sounds like a flaw until you realize you now own a tiny portable black light. If you’ve ever wanted to recreate a 1960s blacklight poster vibe on a model train layout—or just generally feel like you’re running a very small, very underfunded nightclub—you’re covered. Yes, it’s a little pricey. But so is anything that actually works the first time without turning into a weekend project involving regret, paper towels, and language you don’t want the neighbors hearing. This J-B Weld light-activated superglue is amazing! I was really impressed with how easy it is to use and how quickly it creates a strong bond. Being able to position the pieces exactly where I want them before activating the glue with the light makes it much easier and less stressful than regular superglue that can start setting immediately. The clear formula is another big plus because the repair looks much cleaner and less noticeable. A small amount goes a long way, and once cured, the bond feels strong and secure. I’ve found it really handy for small repairs and projects around the house. I also like that you get two tubes in the pack, so I can keep an extra one on hand for the next repair. This stuff is absolutely miraculous. it dries as clear and as hard as glass. This is not an exaggeration! Things that have formerly been impossible to repair such as smooth, non-porous surfaces, extremely delicate spots that bear a great deal of weight or torque, crystal or glass, ceramics, porcelain, top-heavy items, delicate jewelry, etc. can be repaired in a few seconds with an absolutely flawless result. The glue cures perfectly clear. It is liquid, very slightly viscous, and cures within seconds of being illuminated with the included UV light. I have even glued necklace chains back together with a minuscule drop of the glue. The repair is nearly invisible and is not noticeable. It does take skill and patience to do extremely delicate repairs. The glue is not going to take a hack job and make it beautiful. But these types of repairs were formerly inaccessible to the majority of people without specialized experience and equipment. Broken costume or semi-precious jewelry that’s been sitting around for sentimental reasons can now be resurrected. I have even used this glue for exterior car repairs. And it held up for that, too! The one thing I have to critique. And it is a major critique: there has to be a better way to dispense and/or store the glue so that the cap cannot become adhered to the tube. I have had to discard several tubes of the glue that were partially full because the cap had become permanently affixed to the tube, despite every precaution I had taken to prevent this, knowing it was an issue in the past. Being able to repair broken items makes it worth buying another tube, but it would be much less frustrating and expensive if the manufacturer could fix this design flaw.

This glue is awesome. Strong and dries with in 10 secs with UV light. 1 bottle did break on me and ended up in the trash. Other one has been great

This adhesive is the handiest "glue" I've ever used. It's typical "Super Glue" (low viscosity, bonds fingers and anything else instantly and effectively) and the best part is it is UV curable. It comes with a little UV lamp which is just a high intensity UV LED and two lithium coin cells. Have your pieces aligned? Just light up the glue joint with the UV lamp and the pieces "ain't comin' apart again"...ever Important notes: The adhesive releases a little poof of hideously smelling smoke and some heat while curing. Don't get it in your eyes or nose (worse than onion).

Not your normal CA glue. Saw the 2800 PSI strength so thought I'd give it a shot. Used it to reattach a broken support tab on the back of a drawer support in my fridge. Was skeptical it would hold. After 2 months, and my wife loading the drawers to the brim with tomatoes from the garden, it's held up well. Since then, I've repaired ceramic pots and other miscellaneous plastic parts. Even used it to add some protection on a new flexible solar panel that was gouged during shipping. I love the UV light being attached. Helps to set things quick when you are holding things together. I found that the glue felt a bit tacky after hitting it with the UV, so I've been letting it cure for the 24 hours on thick mends or ones that require high strength. Tackiness was gone after a few hours. Absolutely no complaints. Buy it!

UV activated resin has been around for a while but JB have done an excellent job refining the product and the delivery mechanism, including a self-puncturing process on first use. This product allows for repairs, fills, reinforcement of just about anything with strength approaching that of two part epoxies. Infinitely superior to the mess and haziness associated with normal super glue and without the "use the tube once" problem most super glues have. I used it to repair and reinforce 55 year old plastic and fiberglass parts from a car restoration with excellent results. It's also paintable if you scuff it a little with sandpaper and use a primer or adhesion promoter before applying the top coat. Because it dries crystal clear, painting is often not necessary. Highly recommended!
