Amlactin Daily Nourish Body Lotion, 12% Lactic Acid, 14.1 oz

Starting with the good, I am really pleased. I (61f) had been using The Ordinary 5% lactic acid drops on my face, and saw subtle improvement in surface texture. I thought, ok, I don't have any irritation with this, so let's try amping up the percentage. Test patching with this 12% product was ok. Some mild pinprickling - not burning -which is what I expected, and only lasts about a half hour. No rash, no roughness, and the faint pinpricks tell me it's penetrating to do the work. After about a week using it, I'm really liking what I see, and the price doesn't hurt at all. Having said that... I am not what anyone would call "scent sensitive". I wear perfumes, don't have any allergies, headaches, or reactions. But man, this has a smell all its own. It's just, ugh. Like you left yogurt rotting in a rubber glove. And you can't get any closer to the source of the smell than on your own face. It doesn't seem to fade much, either. I could still smell it quite clearly by the end of the day when I put it on in the morning. I actually had my friend sniff me. Closer. Ok, now closer... She practically had her nose pressed up against my cheek when she said, "Oh, ok, now I think I'm smelling it." So it's not like it's stinky to anyone else. But again, nobody smells your own face more clearly than you do, and even at the end of the day it was very noticeable to me. So I do have to knock a star off for that. Having said all that? Still gonna keep using it, because it really does seem to be doing a nice job smoothing out fine surface crepeyness on my face, and plumping/hydrating. Maybe at some point that particular receptor will burn out in my nose and I'll stop noticing that smell. I really hope so, because I rarely see such nice results in such an inexpensive product. (edit) Had to come back and edit this to give it that last star. I'm calling this User Error. More is not better here, and when I used a little less and massaged that in thoroughly, the smell was much, much less, and then really did fade away to nothing in about an hour. I guess applying too much to absorb easily on your face would naturally make it sit there all day on the surface.

I’ve been using AmLactin Daily Nourish Therapeutic Body Lotion, and I can definitely see why it’s so highly recommended. I first heard about it from a dermatologist I follow on Instagram, who speaks very highly of it, so I decided to give it a try. The 12% lactic acid gently exfoliates dead skin while deeply moisturizing, and the results have been amazing. After just a short time, my arms and legs look noticeably smoother, softer, and have a healthy glow that I wasn’t getting from regular body lotion. I love that it exfoliates without any scrubbing, making it easy to incorporate into my routine. The only downside is the scent. It has a strong ammonia-like smell when you first apply it, which isn’t pleasant. Thankfully, the odor fades once the lotion dries and a little time has passed, so it hasn’t been a dealbreaker for me. Overall, the results far outweigh the temporary smell. My skin has never looked or felt better, and I’ll definitely be adding this to my daily skincare routine. If you’re dealing with dry, rough skin and want smoother, glowing skin, this lotion is absolutely worth trying.

I have really dry and really sensitive skin. I’ve tried so many lotions and potions but never found anything that really worked, until now. I’ve only used this lotion for a week and my flaky skin is gone! I wear black leggings a lot and usually when I pull them off the inside is covered with flakes of skin. No more! Not one single flake! I honestly can’t believe it. I use this immediately after showering and toweling off. I keep it in my shower but away from the water. I have a large glass shower with a built in seat and all of my products are on the seat. Shake it well before using. It is not greasy AT ALL. The smell isn’t bad, it isn’t completely fragrance free but what little you smell dissipates after you rub it in. I will continue buying this lotion and hope the formula doesn’t change or they stop making it.

This is really good lotion. It absorbs good, works very well on feet. It is non-greasy. It does have a weird smell sometimes, I have purchased this product a couple times now.

I used to get a lot of peeling with tretinoin, even at the lowest 0.025% concentration. My makeup would cling to the flakes and look awful by the end of the day. I tried so many moisturizers, but none made enough of a difference, so I eventually stepped down to a gentler retinoid (retinal 0.2%) because the flaking from tret was so frustrating. Then someone recommended using this product alongside tretinoin to help with dryness and flaking. I eased my way back into tretinoin slowly while using this product at night. During the first few weeks, I experienced some mild stinging, prickling, and itchiness right after application, but my skin never became red or inflamed. Within the first few nights, I noticed a real difference. At the time, I was using tretinoin once per week and retinal 0.2% on the other nights. By morning, my skin looked so smooth and glowy. My makeup applied beautifully, like I finally had a smooth, hydrated canvas instead of dry patches for foundation to cling to. Since I had no visible irritation, I eventually started using it in the morning too. After about a month of consistent morning-and-night use, the stinging sensation went away completely. I have now added a second tretinoin night each week and still have not experienced the peeling or irritation I used to get. I am very happy with how soft and comfortable my skin feels, but the biggest difference has been in how much better my foundation looks throughout the day. Another unexpected benefit: I have not had a pimple or breakout in over a month, including around my cycle. I normally get hormonal breakouts around my chin before my period, but I did not experience that this past cycle. It may be the combination of this product and tretinoin, but either way, I am thrilled. I have also cautiously started using it on my neck and chest a few times per week. So far, I have had no irritation, and the skin there looks softer and smoother as well. I was tempted to try the 15% version, but this formula is working so well for me that I plan to stick with it. The bottle also lasts a long time because I only use a small amount on my face and use a separate lotion for my body. As for the scent, I use only about one-third of a pump to a dime-sized amount for my face. I can smell it during application, but the scent fades quickly and does not linger. I also love the lightweight, thin consistency. It spreads very easily, absorbs well, and does not leave behind a sticky feeling. Overall: This has been a game-changer for helping me tolerate tretinoin without the usual flaking. My skin looks smoother, more hydrated, and more even, and my makeup has never looked better.

I bought this once to help my KP arms and textured skin. I ran out and they started coming back so I repurchased and my skins starting to look and feel smooth! Has a chemical smell but it doesn't stay on the skin after it dries. My first bottle got left in a hot car and it destroyed the formula so don't make that mistake! Definitely recommend

I love this lotion!!! As I've aged my skin has become dry and flaky, including my face and this lotion is a god send. I apply it after I shower and have discovered that a little goes a long way. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturized. I read precautions about applying to the face after shaving and yes, it lightly stings but only for a few seconds and then feels great. I also don't notice any offensive odor...it's just unscented. It quickly absorbs into the skin giving it a fresh glow. I'm a fan for life.

This cream works just as described, it exfoliates the skin leaving it soft and moisturized at the same time. I used to have very rough elbows and the skin on them has thinned into becoming more smooth and has got rid of the ashy and dark brown color as well, turning it into a lighter shade of brown, which I'm honestly happy with as I didn't expect an over the counter type of product to work this well, I have been using it for around a month so a little more time is needed to let it fully act. I've already used around half of a bottle but that's because I apply it to both my whole arms and different areas of the body in little bit of a large amount. The only thing I don't fully like about it is that it takes a long time to dry on the skin, and it takes even longer when you are the slightest bit wet because you got out of the shower (Which is when I use it). The bottle I find to be a very nice portable size and very easy to use

Fantastic moisturiser! Is lightweight and not remotely greasy m, yet provides incredible hydration and leaves skin with a glass like appearance.

V. Good for moisturising your skin

Love this body lotion! It moisturises without being greasy and leaves your body super soft. It has no fragrance so it is suitable for my extremely sensitive skin . I've tried other body lotions from the pharmacy but either they had fragrance or they were too greasy . It has been only a month but I can already see a remarkable improvement in my skin condition.

I have dry skin and this lotion greatly helps me. Its very moisturizing but it doesn’t have a pleasant scent. Aside from the scent its a very good moisturizer.

I love Amlactin so much. It’s an incredible moisturizer that is a perfect exfoliant. I’ve seen such an improvement in dry skin, as well as in my aging skin signs/dark spots. I have sensitive skin, but tolerate it very well with no irritation. Sometimes I can feel a slight tingle, but nothing irritating. It’s fragrance free and very lightweight. Zero greasy feel. It leaves your skin so soft and smooth and noticeable glowy. It also really helps with ingrown hairs too. It’s a pretty small bottle for the price, but this 2 pack is the best value I’ve found in Canada so far. And it’s so incredible I can’t live without it. Highly recommend for dull, dry, and aging skin.
