As a working electrician, I rely on wire connectors that are consistent and secure, and the Ideal Twisters are my go-to choice. Torque and Leverage The standout feature on these is the "swept-wing" (or ear) design. It makes a huge difference when you are twisting hundreds of connections a day. The wings give you enough leverage to get a solid connection by hand without fatigue, but they also fit perfectly into a nut driver if you prefer using a drill/driver for speed. Connection Quality They hold the wires incredibly well; the internal spring bites into the copper immediately. However, you must strictly follow the rated number of conductors. Do not try to stuff more wires in than the chart allows. As long as you stay within the specified wire count (min/max), the connection is rock solid. Verdict If you want a secure connection that is easy to apply, these are worth it. Highly recommended for both professional trade use and DIYers who want to do it right. Pros: Winged Design: Superior leverage for hand-tightening. Driver Compatible: "Ears" work great with nut drivers. Reliable Grip: Holds wires tight (when used with the correct wire count). It is surprising how Ideal was able to get so much differentiation in a humble wire nut, but they did. I find these better than the good offerings from name brands such as 3M and GB, and far better than the older standard styles that are often imported today. They grip tightly and securely. They have a very wide listed conductor range, that exceeds the range of orange to red of the old standard styles, while being a bit smaller than name brand red. The head is compatible with a 5/16 nut driver if desired to give your fingers a rest. From what I have seen, electricians love these, and no wonder why.

Ideal wire nuts are all ill buy and use, tan color has you covered for most circumstances.

These are the best wire nut you can buy. They are easy to grip, grab wire very well, and accept such a wide range of wire gauge that these are basically universal from most small wire gauges up to much larger gauges as well. It takes all of the guesswork of what color wire nut you need, when you only need to use one. Won’t buy anything else
