Refrigerant Charging and Service Procedures for Air Conditioning 2nd Edition Review: Good how to book. Great how to and why book! - Great book for anyone interested in AC. Operation and explanations of process for lay people and ones starting in the trade are clear and easy to understand. I work in industrial trades and have always stayed clear of refrigeration. Quotes for jobs, an aging system at home, and dealing with questionable contractors drove me to be more informed. This book did that well! Considering the prices now for new equipment and installs this is a great resource to understand and evaluate purchases. A book dedicated to providing a solid overview of systems for home owners written in the same manner would be a huge hit! Review: Great book, for non-HVAC professionals as well. - I am not a HVAC professional or tech; but I am an engineer (electrical). Wanted to be more informed about my house's central air conditioning system, and this book did just that.

Best technical book I have ever read.
Awesome book and well worth the money. I can't thank the author enough for sharing his knowledge with this book and videos. I'm a homeowner with previous automotive A/C experience and EPA cert. I was able to figure out why one evaporator was freezing up on one of my two HVAC systems and got it fixed. Identified what type of metering device my system has and what was going on with it. Learned that it was a piston type and how to check the charge by superheat. I evacuated the system, fixed the blocked orifice, pulled a vacuum, recharged the system and checked for leaks. Both my units are 2.5 ton R22 so I doubt anyone would even want to service them and just try to sell me a new system. With the help of this book, I saved thousands of dollars. System is now working great. After reading this book, I am confident that I could replace the entire system by myself.

You can believe what he says
Craig is one of three I follow on YouTube because I have yet to find fault with his teaching. I’m so glad he decided to invest in all those in the hvac trade.

Just get it
This book makes everything so simple, breaks down each thing starting with the refrigerant cycle going into wet bulb measurement and everything else with tons of pictures and charts. Anyone trying to get into hvac should skip the school, apply to 5 places per day as hvac helper! read the book and learn to braze (and measure refrigerant) !!!Let’s gooooo!!!

Very informative with helpful diagrams. Hopefully a book about MUAs, RTUs etc in commercial applications will be next and is on the same level as this one.
