This is a great machine. It’s idiot proof you don’t have to be a locksmith to run this, but if you’re trying to get house keys cut and it’s the price of those things now this is definitely the way to go.

Have used to duplicate 2 keys so far with success.
for me 5 start means meets expectations, pleased with purchase. The instructions are not very useful, but online videos help show how to use similar duplicators. It appears to be well made, especially for such a low price. I don't know how well it will hold up, but since I'm not a locksmith I doubt I'll use it enough to put any serious wear on it. So far I've only duplicated 2 key types: a single Kwikset house key (I had a blank on hand) and 2 successful (and 1 failed) copies of a 2014 camry automotive key (its a normal-looking 2-sided car key). The failure was probably my fault. I decided to try to adjust the key follower without even trying to cut a key. It might have been correct out of the box, I should have tried it first. I don't know what the proper adjustment technique is, but I definitely messed it up the first time. I finally was able to use 2 identical keys (or 2 blanks would probably be just as good) to set the adjustment: Secure and align the keys in both jaws. if the tracer is correctly adjusted you should be able to move the key along the follower while spinning the cutter. When adjusted right the cutter should barely scrape along the surface of the second key. Loosen the two bolts securing the tracer and use the big screw in the front to move the tracer in or out (snug the bolts before trying to slide the key along the tracer). It can be operated either electrically or using a hand crank. If you want to use the electric motor make sure to pull the crank shaft on the right side all the way out or it won't trigger the switch that lets the electric motor work. The cutter is geared to a cam that slowly moves the bar to run the keys over the tracer and cutter. If running in electric mode the bar will move all the way across the cutter then the motor will turn off automatically. If using the manual handle you'll know the cam has reset when you can push the bar back to the right.

A good machine if care and patience are used!!
My one complaint is that I haven’t found a way to take the automatic travel for the carriage out of gear to move it manually when cutting. Take your time on setup!! I set the key placement in the holding blocks by using the back edge of the guide for the key to be copied and the back edge of the cutting wheel for the blank. Make certain both keys are true in the holding blocks. Put them both in, look it over, manually slide the carriage back and forth a time or two and see where the cutter will be running in relation to the key being copied. Snug the keys but you don’t have to absolutely crank the handles down gorilla tight. If any of the key valleys are steep or extreme you absolutely can hold the carriage back a little and make multiple passes or use the manual crank. Not a bad $130 machine at all.

Electric and manual
It’s a good little key cutting machine, but the reason why I give it three stars I’ll tell you it should have came with a set of shims one for the left side and one for the right side keyholders due to the fact the holder does not hold the key in place that well doesn’t matter if you switch it around keep in mind this key cutting machine you can move the keyholder around to try to position. The key in the right position so it should have came with some metal shims. I will try to look for some.or fabricate something a lot of the other Chinese made machines key cutting machines that is the majority of them are coming with metal shims. It took me three times to cut the key due to the fact it does not stay in position correctly in the keyholder without metal shim, but nevertheless, I was able to cut the key. Do I recommend this machine? Yes it’s a good cutting key machine, but it should come with shims.
