Is there a Back flow stopper included?

There is a clamp/ clip that allows you to stop the flow down once you squeeze it. Essentially, it act as a back flow stopper. Not the greatest nor the ideal back flow stopper, but it gets the job done if used properly.

I'm assuming the coffee is made in a separate stainless steel pan or glass pan then poured over the strainer into the stainless enema bucket??

Yes, I simmer the coffee grounds and water in a sauce pan for 10-15 minutes. Then I pour the contents through a strainer into the bucket. Obviously to filter out the grounds. Then I let sit until body temperature or add cool water to bring the temp down quickly. That's it.
