I received this system less than a week ago and I've been listening to it ever since. Overall it does sound pretty good but when you crank it up, it has a lot of shrill and metallic sound due to the 2½" midrange driver. I thought I would experiment with replacing the mid and bass drivers. So today I opened them up and discovered that the replacement 2½ inch midrange I bought would not fit properly and the original was soldered to the wires. I also discovered that the midrange had it's own compartment. So I stuffed each compartment with 4 cotton balls to help with the harshness from the midrange driver. Then I opened the 4 inch woofer and it was attached with lugs. So I was able to replace the metal woofer with a Dayton Audio 4" woofer with paper cone and it fit perfectly. I also noticed that the box had no damping material of any kind and the port was curved therefore allowing the small woofers to produce deeper bass in such a small box. The woofer and midrange have no crossover. They are straight wired and running at full frequency but the silk tweeter has an adequate capacitor and doesn't sound shrill like the midrange and woofer did. Now I'm listening to the drastically improved speakers. The harsh shrill has drastically improved on the midrange. The tweeter sounds the same of course, and the woofer produces deeper upper bass now. The stereo imaging and depth has drastically improved. When I listen to Céline Dion it sounds like she's right in my living room singing to me. This system would be perfect with a subwoofer but there is no output to a subwoofer which is too bad. I would say that the sound from the original drivers was adequate but the improvement made them sound like $500 instead of $120. I would recommend this system definitely for a desktop or small room or apartment where you don't want booming bass to disturb the neighbors.

I used the HDMI/ARQ and the included optical cable and found that the sound was very good compared to others I have tried. I am hard of hearing and these speakers paired with a computer program for varies modes of sound. Using the equalizer makes these speakers really make the difference between reading the captions or get great movie quality sound. Using my 50" smart tv gives me movie quality picture and now great sound.

I cant tell if I like these or not. I read some reviews that said there was a humming/buzzing. I was hoping it was a defect but mine had it too. I had great responsiveness from the Majority company though and they were able to help a little. But still has some buzzing, super anoying. Also the speaker has a says its mode out loud when you switch input settings, and it says it super loud. I havent figured out how to make it not scream "bluetooth mode" ect. yet. I want to try the phono with my record player, but I also wanted to use it with my desktop and im disappointed that it can only connect with a aux or Bluetooth. The aux has a wicked bad buzz which turns on and off with the vocals (think of the pauses between an audio book or video). I mean im gonna use these and besides the buzzing they sound good, but honestly wouldn't recommend.

These speakers are simply Amazing and I wasn’t expecting so much clarity, punchy bass, and beautiful vocals in such a compact package. Cambridge Audio/Majority audio has hit the highest mark with these D100 active speakers. Thank you so much to the staff over there for having so much talent and I can’t wait to see/hear what you all come up with next. In case your on the fence on this item then in hook the fence nail snagged on your pants leg and get the Majority D100 active speakers or you won’t know your misssssing them. Thank You Majority and staff.

Majority claims that these are 100 watts. I find that difficult to believe. The max volume level of these speakers is quite low compared to other, cheaper models that I own. There is also an unacceptable level of white noise coming from the amp when nothing is playing. I thought it might be the Bluetooth connection so I tried all of the other outputs but got the same noise no matter which were used. There are plenty of in out options and the 3 way drivers are nice but none of that matters if the sound quality is sub par which is the case. My Bose companion 3 speakers smoke these by a huge margin and they were $149, nearly the same price. These will be going back. No more Majority for me.

Fantastisch basreflex luidsprekers

First, presentation and finish. These look much more expensive then they are, with furniture quality finish. They are also surprisingly weighty and feel very solid. The mirror imaging of the pair is a very nice touch. Setting them up is easy, they connected to my laptop's bluetooth with no issues at all. I have not yet tried the other connection options. Sound quality is way above what one might reasonably expect for the low price, and they are voiced very much in the "British" style. They are in many ways reminiscent of the classic BBC LS3/5a, with a communicative bass, articulate midrange, and polite treble. They are not by any means "in your face", but when one finds one's foot tapping along involuntarily to the music, it's being delivered well. Smooth and musical. I have mounted mine on QTX 50cm tall stands which are an ideal match making for a good looking pairing. They are very sensitive to room placement. Put them within 1 foot of a back wall but keep them away from corners as the mid bass will become very boomy. The included remote control has a quality feel but has only basic functionality. It would have been nice to be able, for example, to control the EQ from the remote but at this price point it would be unfair to complain. My only real criticism is that the included cable to connect the speakers together is too short (barely 2m), and it is very hard to find a suitable longer replacement. Not a problem if you are handy with a soldering iron but it's an annoying oversight. Overall, an incredible pair of speakers for the price and well worthy of a five star review.

Very good quality, nice design and the audio is great. The 3 drivers per box make it sound incredible and the volume goes very loud without distortion. Has a good bass to it. Price quality 10/10

Buone casse, con suono nitido, ricco e potente soprattutto se ascoltato in digitale; siamo ad un'altro livello rispetto alle comuni casse da PC sotto i 100 euro. Già solo il fatto che siano a 3 vie e non a 2 come solito, incide sulla qualità dell'ascolto. Ho trovato nativamente buoni bassi e medi ma alti sottodimensionati anche girando al massimo la rotella apposita; però con un equalizzatore software gratuito ho risolto il problema. nel complesso sono soddisfatto dell'acquisto.
