Are these still effective if used when on your period? Or should I wait until after?

You should wait until after. Since I started using them I've not had any bouts of bacterial vaginitis or yeast infections in 6 months. I generally use one suppository after my period just to make sure the pH stays right. I also use a weekly one if my lady bits get alot of action. The first time I did a 7 day treatment. Now i generally do 1 to 2 per week.

What’s the difference between the white capsules and pink capsules? My first purchase was pink. The order I just received, the capsules are white.

I get what you're saying. Just by relaxing the pelvic floor muscles when you sit to go to the bathroom, sometimes a tampon (or suppository) can slip out a little bit. I've had that happen with a suppository, but only when I've just recently put it in. Try to hold off going to the bathroom for a couple hours after insertion and you should be fine.
