Heavy duty & valve works freely
Purchased for a safety shut off for outside of air to a wood stove. Menards didn't have it. Very pleased.

Great for a radon system
This 3" gate valve (and it's bigger brother the 4") are hard to find for a reasonable price. I needed one to to act as a shut-off for my sump pump pit (basin). It constantly fills up with water so I need to turn off the radon fan so I can pump the water out during the winter. With this valve, I used a 3in Fernco to connect to the PVC pipe. Now it's EZ-PZ to shut it off temporarily. Note: this will fit standard Schedule 40 PVC. Some installers will use THIN wall PVC -- this will not fit unless you use a coupler. The 3in couple I purchased off Amazon as well: NDS 3P05 PVC S&D Coupling (B00HXHAN78). The coupler will fit snuggly into the valve. I primed & glued the couplers.

Received it with a large crack down the slip gate housing rendering it unusable. Returned.

Good construction however beware the ID of this valve is 4"-1/2".
