For me a "MUST HAVE" item. Keep a tank wand on hand also.
I just purchased my first travel trailer. It is a used trailer and I was very apprehensive about dealing with the septic. I purchased one of these Dual Flush units along with a tank wand and a few other items to be as prepared as I could. I found this tank rinser to be extremely useful and it made the whole process much easier to deal with. For my review I'll list the features this unit provides and how I used it on my first trip. I ended up having a clogged up system since the previous owner failed to flush properly after their last use. This unit saved me from what could have been a major issue. 1. Visibility - My septic line does not have a clear section at the outlet. This unit adds that and it's very convenient to be able to see the flow you are getting when you open your drain valves. The first indication of a clog is poor flow or a sudden drop in flow when you open your valves. This is what happened for me. After opening the valves flow began then stopped abruptly and my black tank levels never dropped below 2/3 full with valves wide open. I tried flushing with a wand through the toilet first but no luck. 2. Tank Flush - This unit lets you flush the tank from the drain outlet. I wouldn't see this as a replacement to using a wand through the toilet or built in tank rinser (if you have one) but it does have one "HUGE" benefit, you can use back pressure to clear a clog. My system was clogged and the wand wasn't clearing it. I closed the outlet valve on this unit, hooked up my water hose and set the valve to "flush tank". Water immediately filled the drain and began to back flushed the tank. Any clog was pushed back into the tank. After a few minutes I shut off the water and opened the drain valve. The flow was much improved but eventually slowed down again. I repeated this a few times and after 3 flushes the tank emptied normally. I then went back and cleaned the tank with a wand and we were done. If I hadn't had this unit I'm not sure what I would have done but it probably would have involved opening the sewer line or trying to snake the clog out from inside. Yuck!! 3. Hose Flush - When your ready to disconnect you want to flush your septic hose. Normally you dump you grey water after emptying and closing your black tank to rinse the hose. Additionally you would probably disconnect the hose and spray it out with your water hose. With this unit you simply close your black/grey water drain valves, switch the direction valve to "flush hose" and turn on the water. This flushes your hose with fresh water without disconnecting it. Much better option than disconnecting if you asked me. Once rinsed you your satisfaction you can disconnect and plug your hose. In closing, this item is a "Must Have" for me. I would not use any other method than this type of flush valve plus a wand for flushing my tanks and hoses.

You need this
This allows you to give your black and gray wastewater tanks a good flushing out and help get the residues, sludge, and solids freed up and washed away. Someone really thought through the process when they designed some of the features, This product seems to be well built with quality materials. The clear polycarbonate adapter lets you see your progress as you flush the tanks and you can see when they are clean. The universal 3-inch gate valve with a standard bayonet style fastener fits most sewer hose outlets The built in gate valve keeps the water flowing up into the tanks, and then opened to release the rinse water effectively flushing more debris out. I have used this a few times now and I am surprised at the stuff that still comes out of my tanks even when they seem to be clean. This is great for trailers without a built-in tank sprayer You want to put a lot of water into the tank when flushing and I would also recommend you purchase a water flow meter to put on the hose you use for this so you can keep track of how much you put in.

If you don’t have a black tank flush built in you need this.
Works great. Hooked up and flushed black tank and hose, very easy to use.

Not as described. Will not [flush] a pipe. At all! But it it works great to monitor dump station.
Please read through to understand star rating. FTR - This unit will absolutely not clear [flush] a clogged pipe [your black tank drain pipe]. There is simply not enough pressure, volume, flow, into the pipe to help. 4" drain pipe is big. This unit provides a minuscule spray jet of water concentrated into the first 3-4 inches of your pipes outlet. Useless. This is however, as far as I have found, a great option [creates 2nd flow valve] for dump, cleaning, clearing, management, and to view tank contents as you dump. Especially if your snaking pipes from the toilet end through to the tank to clear stubborn blockage. Several fill tank, flush, fill, flush tank cycles (I've had to do five such cleanses to get clean water flow out from my black pipe), with intermittent snaking as required, plus using drop in [or liquid] cleansing treatment agent with said treatment, will clear 95% of all blockage issues. This units large, clear, plastic window allows you to see what's coming through AND assess how its clearing debris. The four star rating is based on how it works in this use scenario, not as is described to function by the listing agent and/or manufacturer. For that it gets a big fat zero! CHEERS. HAPPY CLEANING. BEST LUCK.

Great piece of gear
When i got my camper last year, the tank level lights were apparently covered in, well...let's just say they weren't working correctly. Camped close to home a couple of times & the water source at the pump out site was broken, so I didn't get to try this out until recently when we took the camper to a different spot for almost a week. About midway through, I packed up & went to the clean out & got to use this for the first time. Works amazingly. After a good flush out my level lights were working correctly. Used it again before we left. I thought maybe I needed new sensors. Nope, just needed to actually clean my holding tanks. I recommend this to anyone with holding tanks, whatever vehicle they're in.

Got this to back flush one of my greater tanks. Although it does not direct a spray into the tank itself, it does allow a reverse flow of water to be generated. Also, with the built-in gate valve, you can build up a higher pressure pulse to help break up blockages. I would close both the flush and tank valves once Inhad flooded the drain piping. Build up pressure for a few seconds and then open the tank valve to allow a good pulse to reverse flow. The clear plastic section allows you to see what the blockage consisted of when you drain the tank. Very pleased with this piece of kit.

Well worth having if you want to avoid unpleasant black tank blockage

but I don't care I'm just going to get an adapter made for and maybe I will address this issue now that the theory of this product is very good that you can attach a hose to it and have it fill up your greywater tank and your black water tank at the same time since I purchased this product I put the pump in my motorhome that pumps water for my greywater tank into my black water tank because it all is coming out in the same place anyway and it is easier to flush it that way when it has to all come out anyway.

This is easy to install. Quality is great. I was impressed on how well it works I used to drag hose into the trailer to flush the toilet now it connects outside. I wish I bought this sooner. Definitely recommend it
