This device is great! It has a long lasting battery, supplemented by solar recharging. It ran perfectly to schedule and kept everything alive during a multi-day vacation. I needed to set it up in a hurry to water plants on the back porch — thank you Amazon same-day delivery. It's easy to made a mess of the irrigation lines, especially if one is trying to rush through the setup, but I can hopefully take a better shot at it next season, using a new accessory kit and zip ties. My advice is take at least 2-3 days to learn the system and to calibrate the watering needs, before relying on it to water plants unsupervised. Irrigation is based on running time - not water volume - so one really needs to see what 1 minute of irrigation actually amounts to in order to program a good automated schedule. I guessed the irrigation times - but probably should have had it run 50% longer. The app has a lot of great functionality, but isn't necessarily targeted at the simpler-oriented folks. The whole system was easy for me to set up and connect to wifi, but I am skeptical my parents or grandparents would be able to figure this system out without my help — find the computer person in your family! Since the device doesn't measure water volume, I'm now looking for a some way to measure the water remaining in my 5-gallon reservoir (a discarded dill pickle pail from a sandwich shop, which is made using food-grade plastic).

Got this for my outdoor strawberries and it’s doing exactly what I was hoping it would do. It keeps the soil evenly watered without overdoing it and I love that it’s automatic. I live in a desert so this was a perfect solution to get a small, raised bed area consistently watered. I’m hoping to finally get strawberries this year! 🤞 The tubing set up took a bit as well as adjusting the drip levels but I haven’t had to mess with them since. I’ve been using it a few weeks successfully now and I’m happy so far!

Never able to get it to work. Tried to work with the company to get a replacement or return. Was unable to get customer service to help. I've owned several of the Rainpoint products and have been satisfied in the past. However, in this instance, it just wouldn't work.

This plant watering system has been great for all the indoor plants that I have. The solar device keeps it charged nice and the system overall does not need much maintenance. The setup was super easy and took me maybe 20 minutes for my 4 plants. The watering seems to be great and my plants look really healthy.

This is the second system we purchased. The major issue we had with both was hooking up to wifi. Auto connection didn't work and manual setup took more than 10 times to finally connect. One was to Xfinity and the other to Frontier. Got someone on the phone to help. Took our phone number but never called back. Finally, got it connected without his help. Instructions are not that clear either. Once connected, works great.

Well right off I see that to charge the battery without solar you have to take the battery out of the module. This will prevent using the system indoors or in a shaded area without taking the battery out periodically to charge it. So there is no charge port on the solar watering device without removing the battery to plug it in and charge it. The instructions are just OK to get everything connected and working, they may be in English but probably written by someone who's English is a second language. Overall the unit seems to be fairly quality and the watering schedule and period should be adequate for any watering choice which is what I was worried about after ordering other units with set schedules and watering times that didn't fit my need. Would be nice if it also measured soil moisture but it doesn't. Also would be nice if usb charging ports were included without removing the battery and if there was a battery charge indication on the app.the only battery indication on the app is when the battery is charging from solar. Apparently if the battery is charged and the sun is on the solar panel there is no solar charge indication, only if the battery isn't charged and solar is charging it. Also there is a power insufficient indication but not a battery charge indication.

This has been a total game changer. This thing was incredibly easy to setup and worked great to keep my plants healthy while I was away. I love the convenience of being able to adjust it through my phone. Recommend it.

This watering system is perfect for my small veggies and can be controlled through wifi which is so nice. Now i can even water my plants and veggies when i am not home. Perfect solar charging and worry free watering.

I am all excited. Very happy. Went to turn it on all the sudden worked next day. Come back out and hit the test button for 30 seconds. It runs for 20 seconds, goes red and then flashes and stops. Now I'm leaving for 5 days and well I don't think I'm going to be able to water my stuff while I'm gone. ERG g. I guess we'll figure it out when I get back

A good product well built but battery is not replaceable. ☹️
