Insten Controller

I usually don’t buy controllers, but I bought this one and it was a great dupe for the pro controller! Although I had a little trouble connecting it to the switch (just connect the controller and the docking station for the switch with the cord for charging that comes with the controller) everything works great! Battery lasts a long time, and reaction time is also very good!

Honestly, there have been so many different Nintendo Switch accessories that have came out over the past few years. More from third-party companies that have led into mixed results. Some have been good from companies like Hori & Power A, where other companies like Nyko and Talkworks have had mixed results that have not worked to the best of abilities. Truthfully, there have been so many different controllers that companies that have made for the Nintendo Switch that have had mixed reactions overall. Insten is one company that has not really had as strong of a set of accessories like other companies made their presences. This Insten Wireless Pro Controller tries to work like the ones that Power A had made for the Switch, but it doesn't feel as comfortable while playing my favorite titles like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Sonic Mania Plus. Not to mention there are a lot of things that are also missing here. You really do not have the ability including rumble feedback and the amiibo support. I wound up purchasing a controller from Japan for the same price and it actually had those features and the grip was much more comfortable. Honestly, if you want a budget controller for the switch, this could be a good buy but at the end it isn't the best one on the market. I do suggest you seek out another brand for the money instead.Price: CConvenience & Setup: C 1/2+Overall: C

Was able to pair to switch once, have not been able to do so since. When it worked I noticed the vibration had no spectrum, a foot step and an explosion had the same vibration intensity: on or off

I purchased two of these and they both worked and performed great. However one of them had a major issue where the A button ceased to function after about a week. you get what you pay for i suppose, the other one still works fine.

I dropped it on carpet and it broke my right stick

I got two of these controllers as a gift. First one worked great, until I tried to update the firmware based on the manufacturer instructions. That controller bricked. Charged up the second one and before I could even sync it with my console it was bricked when trying to update the firmware again. No troubleshooting on site and contacting support is of no help.Great controller, just don't update it.

This controller work well when it did. One year in with minimal use. When it didn’t, I opted to update the firmware from their website, which in return “bricked” my controller. Contacted customer service. When I told them their firmware bricked my controller, they ghosted me. Didn’t offer a replacement, no help as a matter of fact. DO NOT BUY from a company that does not stand by their products or mistakes. I will never purchase another Insten product and I’ll advise everyone else not to.

The product received looks exactly as advertised. It takes the Switch a bit longer to find than a Joy-Con, but it has a decent range (well over 10 ft). It's the same size and feels very similar to an Xbox controller (my other console). Its rumble/vibration is solid. Some of you might care that the clicking sound the buttons make are a little loud, but it doesn't bother me (you can find reviews on YouTube where you can hear the buttons being pressed).My only beef with this controller (so far) is that it doesn't hold a charge...maybe 20 minutes, tops. I end up having to sit near an outlet with it plugged into a USB wall charger. Fortunately, my family room is arranged such that this isn't too inconvenient. Otherwise, this would be a 5-star product.

First off, I can't give this controller a true review. I bought this little gadget knowing I was getting a Nintendo Switch in the near future. And the adept of the Xbox controller that I am couldn't resist at the sight of this beauty. I didn't mind buying before I actually get the console because I had something else in mind. I was going to connect it to my android phone and play mobile games. But that's when I got to know that this controller was lacking of this function. All new gen consoles' controllers has this function except for the early versions of the Xbox One. So for the time being, I'm stuck with one more Xbox controller (for Switch this time) that can't even connect to my phone. To clarify things, the controller can actually connect with bluetooth to a Smart phone, though it doesn't register any input what so ever. So maybe a driver software update could be installed. So for now 3/5 is the best score I can give this product as it feels really great in hands and it doesn't feel or look cheap in anyway.

Don't see a reason to pay for the Nintendo controller - this one works great. No issues thus far

Pretty weak plastic. Feels like I’m gonna break it or it will just break on it’s own.

I love this thing. I find the buttons feel better than my nintendo brand controller and it's wireless. Battery lasts quite awhile
