Becoming Magic is book one of a complete course in becoming creator of your own exceptional life. In this book, I outline the exact steps which enabled me to move my own life from one of poverty and drudgery, to one of previously unimaginable wealth, purpose and joy. ‘But Magic? I do hope you are joking!’ That’s what I would have said, five or ten years ago. I once despised all things ‘New-Age’, all these spiritual types and their airy-fairy views, their bad science and their irrational beliefs. I had read The Secret and all the Law of Attraction greats, Wallace Wattles, Anthony Robbins, Rhonda Byrne, Napoleon Hill, Esther Hicks and Wayne Dyer. But no matter how closely I followed their instructions for manifesting money, love or happiness, I couldn’t make it work. It was only when I recognised, accepted and finally embraced that what I was doing was actually some kind of Magic that suddenly things began to fall into place. Once I realised that the power came from within me , it was as if the light had suddenly been switched on. I learned how to manifest love and money, but I also learned how to be happy, truly happy. If you’re jaded by the whole New Age idea of The Laws of Attraction, have become bored by their failure to deliver… this book is for you. It is my intention to lead you by the hand through a marvellous journey of wonder and adventure, teaching you how to change your life, one step at a time. Part one of this course, Becoming Magic , lays the groundwork for becoming a magical person, while part two, Doing Magic , offers concrete techniques and instructions for bringing wonderful things into your life. The plan is to build your knowledge slowly, gradually, building on what has gone before, moving on to more complex manifestation techniques only once the basics are mastered. So many people fail with Magic and The Law of Attraction because they rush headlong into using techniques, trying to create enormous manifestations, making very simple but crucial mistakes. When they are disappointed, they imagine they have been duped. The sceptics are right. This is all a load of scammy nonsense. And they give up, declaring it just doesn’t work. I am telling you that it does work. And you can make it work . And this book will show you how. My intention is that this book will allow you to become a true creator of your own life, reawakening and rekindling your belief and interest in The Law of Attraction, Manifesting Reality, Cosmic Ordering or whatever you wish to call it. I prefer simply to call it Magic. Review: The First Key - Magic happens anywhere, anytime and to anyone. We may have looked upon it as synchronicity or the 'lining up of the stars' but for most of us, it is so random and seemingly uncontrollable that we do not pay these occurrences much heed. What also serves to confound us even further is that for many of us, when we do actively try to manifest something whether it be by prayer or meditation or vision boards etc. NOTHING HAPPENS! Or even worst, we get the EXACT OPPOSITE of what we want! In Becoming Magic (and be warned there is a second book - Doing Magic and there is a reason for separating the knowledge in two parts which is explained in the first book), Ms Davis not only explains why this is so but helps you to understand the state you need to be in and what you can do to achieve that state; so that the 'magic' is consistent, repeatable and applicable to - not only the small stuff but the big things as well. At this point you may be thinking "Yeah, well I've read these self-help, law of attraction type books before! What's the big deal with this one?" Right - well here's the thing and this is why there are two books instead of one. There is something that you need to do before you attempt to 'do magic'. And that something you need to do is so simple and yet so critical that if you miss doing it, you will not only miss your opportunity for the real magic but actually do yourself a great disservice. Now trust me I have read several authors in this field - Rhonda Byrne, Neville, Napoleon Hill etc. - and I don't know if Ms. Davis' book just fell into my lap at the right time in my journey but what she says, just makes so much sense! And it is so beautiful and simple that I was able to start doing it immediately. And what I can tell you as I come upon the prescribed two week mark for doing this simple activity is that my life has changed! Already! In fact at one point I started thinking - boy if I continue like this then I won't need to buy the second book! And in the most absolute sense, I probably don't but I'm going to get it (possibly out of sheer curiosity!) and as far as I can see - the only place to go is up and onto greater and better things! P.S. - Side note to Christians - As a Christian, the word 'magic' has a certain taboo to it which means that for the most part we are trained to behold anything magical as evil. But think about it - if Jesus walked this earth today, and performed some of the miracles listed in the Bible, it is quite possible that in our present understanding, we may have beheld him as a magician! Anyway rest assured - there are no spells, no incantations and no spirits to conjure. The magic is all around you and already within you. And the activity that you are encouraged to do before moving onto the next book is so beautiful, that it will resonate with your soul and your spirituality! Review: Now I know why awesome things happened to me - In Becoming Magic and Doing Magic I found at last the explanation of true magic things that happened to me. I'll tell you. I asked my wife how many money we would need to stay one more week. She replied that it would be a large sum and said a number. This means I did nothing to make them happen. MAGIC HAPPENS; is not something we make happen. We could not DO magic. In the most outstanding experiences, I had just a fleeting desire and a great surprise happened. I do not visualized; I did not think. It just happened. Genevieve Davis explained why this is so and what she says is NOT what the books about Law of Attraction teach. There is really a secret but not the secret of The Secret. Every one of my manifestations prove she is right. Book 1 and Book 2 are cheaper than only one of other books about manifestation, and much more valuable. Read them and you too could have an exceptional life.

Now I know why awesome things happened to me

my MAGIC already works!!!!!!
I was laying in bed couldn't sleep for all the worry in my life. It was 2:15am. I said a little prayer asking God to help me figure things out and give me wisdom and help me recognize it when it presented itself to me. I ended my prayer and tried to go to sleep but I still couldn't. A thought popped into my head about a book I already have... The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale. I then picked up my iPad because I thought I would look for the Kindle version on Amazon. The book popped up and was available for the Kindle...however Becoming Magic and Doing Magic also popped up. I thought it was Extremely strange that a MAGIC book pooped up in the "Spirtural" "Law of Attraction" search results. You see I live in this section....,always search for the ANSWERS on how to make all this stuff work because I KNOW it can and does work. Anyway even though MAGIC goes against everything I was ever taught I got the book and it was my MAGIC at work and GOD answered my prayer in a matter of seconds. You see Genevieve writes plainly so you totally understand and she breaks it down and helps ALL the pieces come together. I especially like the Gratitude part. This was always the part I struggled with but it is crucial to be grateful. If you have been searching and have read everything that come along on how to manifest your good but couldn't make it happen this book will surely fill in the missing links to the puzzle. I am not going to RUSH to book two because I already know it works and I want to be completely ready for ALL of the GOOD when I manifest it. I truly hope this helps someone to trust and believe. Oh I know these books are brand new because I am always on here and I have never seen them. Again they showed up just when I needed them too..Thanks Genevieve!!! Good book. Good advise, and one read is not enough
Once Is Not Enough I'm feeling too lazy to write an elaborate review, but I did want to say,... I think this is a really good book. Maybe it's TOO good. What do I mean? I've read and studied a LOT of material around this subject, and, to me, this book (and its corollary, `Doing Magic) pretty much wrap it all up. BUT they do so in a pretty easy, straight forward way that could EASILY be misunderstood. You can read the books in pretty short order. And then you can think, "Ahh, I've got it." But if you don't actually DO what the books say to do, you won't GET the changes you want. You have to DO what the books tell you to do. Otherwise, it's like getting a great recipe for a great meal, but never taking the steps of the recipe. You never get to taste the actual meal. In other words, it's a great book, but you gotta do what it says. And I CAN'T imagine that if you actually DID what the book says to do, your life would not dramatically (over a bit of time) improve. So why 4 and not 5 stars? Because, for reasons I've said, it may be TOO good. "Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened." - Sir Winston Churchill Added 11-17-14: You need to understand that ALL of us are ALREADY manfesting EVERY experience and condition we have. We always HAVE and we still DO, and we always WILL. As the Bible puts it, "Ye are gods, Children of the Most High." So, we are ALL already the gods of our own life experiences. So, the 'trick' to creating the ry we really WANT to be experiencing MUST lie in how we are handling OUR part in the manifestation process of our lives. This book very well informs us on what WE need to do, in order to DELIBERATELY improve what we are already doing which is, creating all and every of our experiences and conditions. EVERYTHING you've ever experienced is YOUR manifestation. You just need to come to understand how to more SKILLFULLY manifest what you WANT, as opposed to unwittingly continue to manifest less than what you really want.

It UNTANGLED a KNOT!!!! This book SPOKE to me!!!
This book showed up in my reality "exactly" as stated---"when I needed it most!" It pointed to the very walls that I was unknowingly knocking my head against! It unraveled the knots that were preventing the actualizations of my desires from flowing through! There is this beautiful girl at work that I "really, really, really" want to go out with. I tried a magick ritual that I obtained from another Kindle book, but nothing seemed to happen! "Did I mess something up? Did I not use the right colored candles," etc, went my doubts. I tried the ritual three times, and although there were some definite changes expressed right away, they weren't as mind blowing as I had expected--why? I mean, not only do I believe in this stuff, I "KNOW" that it is TRUE! I "KNOW" because I have SEEN with my own eyes! I have felt with my own hands! I have seen this magic work thousands of times! But what was happening now? What was different? What was blocking my magic? This book--"Becoming Magic"--pointed out the "very" block that was keeping my petite, perfectly sculpted beauty just beyond my reach! You see, "Law of Attraction" circles promote the "thoughts become things" dictum, they advocate the "energy goes where attention flows" dichotomy. Something seemed off about these teachings though, I just couldn't put my finger on what that something was. After finishing my rituals, I would always feel elated, clearly in a high vibrational state. Yet, the next day, while at work, I would keep thinking about this beautiful girl. From the moment that I would park my car in the parking lot, I would look for the magical pattern. "Was she going to suddenly pull up into the parking lot next to me, giving me an opportunity to walk next to her towards our work area?" I kept thinking about and wondering how the miracles were going to manifest! I kept giving the outcome that I desired, my constant attention because I imagined that the focus was akin to watering a seed that one wants to grow into a plant! As LOA circles purport. What seemed off to me was that the opposite "feeling" always seemed to follow this focus of attention, this seeming watering of the seed! The more I "wanted" this girl, the more I experienced the void of not having her! The more attention, in other words, that I gave to the outcome that I desired, the more acute became the opposite experience! This book explained why this is! And it made perfect sense because I have manifested some truly AMAZING things in the past! Sometimes even before opening my eyes to end a particular meditation to create a certain thing! I started to think back on those experiences, on the ones that manifested almost instantaneously. Why was that? I--with the help of this book--was able to connect the dots! The "receiving" is, itself a step in the overall process! And perhaps the most critical one! I kept feeling "up" when finishing my ritual but "down" when I would arrive at work and not see the patterns that I "wanted" to see! This "wanting" mode is what is so illusive! So easily overlooked! And it is perpetuated by continually "thinking" about what we want. It is this "thinking" that is the kink on the manifestation hose that does not allow our desired pattern to flow through! All the times when my manifestations have broken the three dimensional surface, it has happened when I "HAVEN'T" been thinking about them! I "definitely" HIGHLY recommend this book! Don't pay attention to the weak minded people who cry about it being too negative for them. For these are the very people who will never get beyond their sticking points. If they easily feel offended by an author's authentic desire to help those of us who get stuck with this process, then their perception is clear indication of their present situation. They want to get unstuck but by their own terms, not realizing that such resistance and closed-mindedness is the very symptom that they wish to transcend! I am definitely buying book 2!

Very good "how to" to the Law of Attraction
Some of the book statements are: - it's who you are determines your life circumstances - if you are not ready you can receive through application of the Law of Attraction and then lose it imminently - so the first step in receiving is changing who you are, your beliefs and attitudes - take responsibility for everything happening in your life - stop complaining in general, you may complain only if it can change something immediately - stop reading/watching/listening news as they are generally much worse than reality - fill your journal of gratitude, you should find good in your current life to attract more good - notice good changes in your life and build your belief that you can do anything So the book does not say anything about techniques of attracting something you want, instead it creates foundation for it and accents that you would rather not get anything you are not ready to get because you will lose it. I really enjoyed the book and highlighted it here and there. Personally I already know all these points from other books on the Law of Attraction but I'm glad to hear them again in this arrangement, in this system, with new arguments, with new accents. As for my actions, - I already has taken resposibility for my life - I do not complain generally - I read news only occasionally - I recently started conscious expression of gratitude After reading this book I'm going to buy paper notebook specially for gratitude journal and expressing my gratitude on paper. And of course I'm going to read the second part of this book under name "Doing Magic" with much pleasure. 63 days of keeping journal update: my weight became 2.9 kg closer to my ideal one and keeps moving in right direction. I consciously tweaked my diet but I think positive emotions helped me to keep going. There are some promising shifts in my already good financial situation, but I cannot measure and report them awhile.

I don't need to be convinced I made a great decision and have my imagined doubts addressed
Once the author got into the core of the subject matter I appreciated and learned from her message. Having said that the first third of the book is very repetitive. What I don't appreciate and what many authors in self help books do is tell me, as the reader, what "they think" I am feeling. A significant portion of the writing is spent on what the author imagines I as the reader is thinking. I find this very off putting , even insulting. It is as if the information being presented is written in response to what objections the author is imagining the reader must be feeling. I wish more authors wrote without that strategy or recipe as if it needs to be addressed so as to convince the reader that what they have to say is more credible. I bought the book for a reason and of my own interest and free will. I don't need to be convinced I made a great decision and have my imagined doubts addressed. For me, I just want the juice, the authors facts , the core of the message. When the author finally got to it , it was very good. I was more than a bit frustrated because there is a good message here it just convoluted with some repetitiveness and imaginings on how "we" the readers feel.

I don't believe in "magic", but ...
This book deserves a full 5 stars ... okay, maybe 5.5. Of course, I am biased, because it worked for me. While I don't believe in "magic" and I attempted to convince myself that it was, at first, the techniques in this book certainly work. I tried what she said - and it worked. In fact, my whole world began to change. Especially with the advice, "stop complaining". I didn't even realize how much I had done it [without even thinking about it]. It was difficult at first, because it took practice. But once I recognized when I was doing it and stopped, I noticed everyone else doing it. (In fact, I pointed it out to a few that constantly complained to me and they said I was right; they hadn't even realized they had been doing it). She calls it magic, because it is what she is comfortable with - and that's if you need to do, there is nothing wrong with that. Though, I feel the word "magic" gives it some sort of mystery or describes something that is supernatural when really it is just energy (I believe, but it doesn't matter really what you call it - only that you realize you have the ABILITY to do IT - whatever it is). I do have to say, though, she is right about one thing (one of many, actually) - you have it within YOURSELF to create things. And once you realize that, you will understand that YOU have the greatest influence on every outcome in your life. Those of us that are successful with this have realized it. I have read all three of her books (I didn't realize that I had forgotten to review this first one) and while I admit that this one had the greatest impact for me, all books were crucial to the manifestation process. While there are other books that can help you to perfect the technique (and there are so many techniques, you have to find the one that is right for you), this will certainly get you started on the right track. Follow her instructions EXACTLY. Do not skip a head. There is reasoning behind her method and timing of the process. If you follow it, you will be successful. One caveat, though, realize that this is a process and drastic changes don't happen overnight - but they will happen. There is as much unlearning as there is learning in order to do this right. Try it and you will see why it is already working for so many. You really don't have anything to lose, except maybe a little time reading. But hey, you can always learn something from everything - even if it wasn't what you intended to learn ...

A Very Interesting Read.
I bought this whole series and the book on manifesting money too. Whilst I found the books a bit repetitive, the sentiment is dead on. The author recommends reading Becoming Magic first, doing the work and waiting til you're seeing results and then progressing to each book in turn and doing the same. Personally, I read all the books straight away, just to see how I felt about them, not with a view to trying to skip any steps, but I am now re-reading the first one and will follow her advice. I am keeping a gratitude journal and have had some small successes so far, which I do believe, are down to magic. Looking back at certain times in my life, I have manifested stuff without even realising it and it's interesting to go back to those moments and consider how the advice/instructions/suggestions in these books, apply to them. If you're serious about learning to manifest, I think these books will be a great start.

The simplest, the shortest is often the best….
I have read many books of this nature, obviously, I started with ‘The Secret’, and I consider myself well versed in all things LOA. These books have been sitting in my Amazon basket for a little while and I did not feel the urge to remove them or buy them for a few months?? I guess that this was just another example of things coming to us when the time is right. So, I have just finished reading both ‘Becoming Magic’ and ‘Doing Magic’. I found the former took a slightly different route from the other books on the subject that I have read. I also found the authors tone a little harsher than I was used to. However, I finished the book in a day or two, and was glad I did! Though the book largely reaffirmed what I already knew, it was sufficiently different and fresh to hold my interest and reinvigorate my belief and stimulate my thinking. As for the authors tone, well maybe I was just feeling sensitive that day, because it certainly was not a theme that carried on throughout the books. I would reiterate what Genevieve said, you can’t just read ‘Becoming Magic’ in isolation, it must be read with the intention of reading ‘Doing Magic’ too. I read ‘Doing Magic’ immediately after ‘Becoming Magic’, and was highly impressed by the two books. Genevieve has a simple to understand, uncomplicated way of writing that does not require rereading over and over to make sure you understand the point she is making. She has not tried to ‘bulk up’ the book with unnecessary words, paragraphs or pages. It is what it is. It says what it says in a good, honest unflowery way. I found her analogies to be relevant and helpful when explaining a point. Overall, I massively enjoyed reading these two books, they were informative, inspiring and thought provoking. Don’t let the lack of pages put you off, these books are truly a case for quality over quantity! I am now looking forward to continuing my journey and reading ‘Advanced Magic’!

Love it!
Brilliant! Straight to the point, cold hard truth of sorting yourself out, becoming happy and stop whinging before attempting to manifest anything. No easy steps here on how to manifest, just work on yourself and the world reflects what you put out. Thankyou! I am so excited about becoming magic hehe
