I don't normally write reviews but after this morning I had to write one for this driveway alarm. I was woken up at 5:50 this morning by my driveway alarm going off. I almost didn't get up thinking it was a squirrel since they set if off occasionally. Thankfully I woke up, looked out the window and saw the interior light on in my vehicle. Long story short, my vehicles were broken into and the thief had entered my yard from the neighbors yard but exited through my driveway setting off the driveway alarm and waking me up. Thankfully, he was caught shortly after exiting my driveway, but not before making his way a mile down my street and breaking into numerous vehicles. If it wasn't for this driveway alarm, my house wouldn't have been the last one he hit and he probably would have gotten away with it. Needless to say, my neighbors are all asking for the link for this item so they can order one as well.Only con is the annoying alarm sounds/bells, etc. But, had they not been loud and annoying, they may not have woken me up.

Our testing phase is complete at the three week mark. RESULTS: The unit false alarms once per day between 9:00am and 10:00am. We have determined that this is when the heat of the day begins to rise (we are located in central Florida). No false alarms at night - which is a very good thing! Every single heat producing entity that passes the transmitter triggers the alarm (vehicles, people, dogs, lawn mowers, etc). This is pretty much what we wanted.I had a previous driveway alarm that reacted to electromagnetic disruption. Honestly, I liked that one better because it only reacted to vehicles - but when the weather changed to stormy it would false alarm too. And it would often false alarm in the middle of the night for no apparent reason which was very irritating. SO, you are going to get false alarms no matter what unit you choose.We will keep this unit and are pleased with the heads-up it gives us for things coming down the driveway despite the false alarms.

Used this product as an automatic door alert. My home has a metal roof and other models were very problematic on wireless signals being received at base station. This unit was easy to install and has the added feature of solar charging. Chime is a pleasant tone and easily recognized among the other tones in the home and is heard throughout the home and can be turned down for conversation. Excellent for use in an RV or Camper where security of the area is required.

Mine worked great when I first installed it a few weeks ago. Lately I've been getting 2-3 false alarms in the day and night. Today when it started alarming (it's overcast today), I looked with a pair of binoculars from the top of the driveway down to where the motion sensor is and I don't see any leaves rustling or branches that would be setting it off yet the unit alarmed 6 times in a row with a couple seconds between each even as I watched. I went down to adjust sensor from 30' down to 25'. I had the receiver with me on battery so I could test that the new position of the motion sensor worked for my needs. As I drove back up the driveway over 50 feet from the detector, the unit alarmed one more time for some reason.Now that I'm back in the house, I've taken the batteries out and plugged the receiver back in. Now I can't adjust the volume. Nothing happens when I press the volume buttons. What is going on?I called both support numbers listed on the paperwork that came with the unit. 320-402-xxxx is not a valid number and the second 334-339-xxxx rings for a few minutes then a recording comes on to tell me I'm getting transferred to another number, which then rings for a few minutes and then disconnects.I need support on this please before I return it to Amazon.UPDATE: 11/12/18I found that if you disregard the support phone numbers and instead email "[email protected]" with your name, phone number, Amazon order #, and the product package that you ordered, they will respond quickly via email. They are overseas, but they have an individual in the US that will then call you back to troubleshoot.My unit ended up being replaced, and the new unit is currently working without issue for the past 24 hours.

My wife and I manage a park and we use these to cover the roads (let us know where people are going). They seem to work real well.I have one sensor that seems to give false alarms but after a few adjustments (aiming the sensor around) it seems to have gone away.The 4 tunes are ok, sometimes I wish it was just a simple tone and not a tune. I find myself humming them and it gets annoying.The only complaint I have now is the solar panels don't seem to sustain 100%. I'm going to need to go out and charge them with the USB plug, a few have stopped monitoring completely.

EDIT April 22, 2019: The company has been very helpful and fixed the problem described below. They have been contacting me to make sure they understood the problem and have both fixed it and sent me a new upgraded unit that displays the alarm sensor number for a full minute after hearing my feedback. I can now fully recommend the product and Hosmart as a company. Rating changed to five stars. Thank you Sherry at Hosmart.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The product works as described and seems to be of good quality. It gives false alarms sometimes due to sunlight or animals but that is to be expected. There is just one thing that drives me crazy and that is when one of the sensors triggers the base unit only show you the number of the sensor for a couple of seconds. So if you are not staring at it you will miss what sensor triggered. A small firmware update so that the number would stay lit a minute or two and this product would be almost perfect. It is such a shame. If someone enters my property I want to be able to check where he/she is but that is impossible if you are not looking directly at the unit. So annoying!

There are some design problems which affect how this product can be installed. The solar panels on the sensors slope downwards towards the lens. The instructions advise against pointing the lens towards the sun but this means that the solar panels cannot face the sun. Also the advice about positioning the sensor about 4 feet above the ground can be difficult without obscuring the solar panels from the sun. The instructions do not give a picture or visual representation of the detector beam shape which makes installation a bit of a guessing game regarding angle of detection. The receiver plays different tunes depending on which sensor has been activated. Unless the owner has a good musical memory, it is difficult to know which sensor has activated without looking at the receiver to see which light is flashing. Perhaps sound pulses or bleeps corresponding to the sensor number ( 1 to 4 ) would be more helpful.Given these remarks, I think that this is a good product.

After initial adjustment I am very pleased with this installation on a steep driveway in the countryside. Some wildlife (pheasants, rabbits, ducks), still trigger the sensor - further adjustment may help to reduce false alarms.Having two receivers works well because one by itself is not loud enough to reach all occupied rooms.

An Excellent product that was really easy to set up and have so far worked flawlessly. We have one of the sensors situated 200m away and it works without any problems. Sensitivity good too - don’t go off when our dog or cat pass them - but do when a human does.They have given us real piece of mind - and as they don’t rely on internet to work, when our internet was down and our cctv cameras didn’t work - these still did - fantastic.Also worth noting is the company themselves have excellent customer services - all emails replied to in a friendly and timely fashion - can’t fault them at all.

This is the second system I have bought! I have found it exceeding easy to fit (just screw it to a post or wall), connect base unit to a power supply where you can hear it .... and it's done!I did find it is better to place two units 4/6 mtrs apart as it is possible to have an animal 'set it off', however, if you have two (as I do) then you get the first tone, followed by a second different tone and know you have a 'visitor'!Has worked faultlessly, which is why I have bought another set, for elsewhere.

Would recommend this item.We have a caravan park and have it at the entrance to let us know when someone drives in or walks in.Excellent and will buy again if necessary.
