Great illustrations, vivid colors, strong binding, good for dragon training
I like this book a lot. The illustrations are big and bold and cover the Httyd world. This is my son's favorite bedtime book.Although have mixed feelings about the length of each page. I wish there was a little more said about each type of dragon. They went through so much trouble to create each dragon, I would have liked to know more about them. However, as a bedtime book, it is nice not to have too many words. It also leaves more time for us to talk about the dragons, and let him decide more about each one.Overall I am happy and I feel like it was worth the purchase price.

Great with two small disadvantages
Excellent! Just so you know the book misses the grimora and boneknapper dragons but has all the others. The sizes for some of the dragons are inaccurate but it definitely makes up for it. The dragons are organized by class and I learned dragons I never even knew about. Definitely worth money. Perfect for a httyd fan!Pros: All kinds of dragons, loads of information, great illustrations.Cons: Some incorrect information and is missing two dragons.

A must but for the How To Train Your Dragon lover in your life!!!
OMG this book is amazing!!! My daughter is 5 and obsessed with HTTYD. She has seen all the movies and the entire Netflix series multiple times. This book does an amazing job of categorizing all the dragons and highlighting our favorite “hero” dragons the way Fishlegs would have wrote it. She was over the moon about this book and we love learning more about each dragon species. Love that it has been updated through the last movie to include every dragon from the movies and tv series!!! 56 species on 93 gorgeously illustrated pages!!!

Great for young "How to Train Your Dragon" fans!
This book is very sturdy and has awesome color pages. It has all the dragons from the movies with facts about all of them. My six-year-old brother looks at this book all day every day. He take it everywhere too! He has memorized all the dragon names and loves reading all about them! This is a great book for younger kids! I would recommend for any "How to Train Your Dragon" fans!

Son loves it.
My eight year-old loves this. He has it practically memorized and dragged the poor book to school each day for nearly two weeks until I told him the binder was starting to go (his abuse, not the book’s fault). Content-wise: only missing two dragons, as others have stated. Great paper-quality, great colors, great info for my son. Having seen the movies too many times to count, I keep hearing this read in Fishlegs’ voice!

Beautiful cover, my copy was flawless, great reference.
At the time I ordered this there were several reviews saying their cover was upside down/pages were not bound correctly. I can't say how many copies had issues like that, but I can tell you that my copy was perfect. I was actually very pleased to find a high quality Light Fury image on the back cover, along with raised glossy bumps for texture on the dragons across the cover. It has a really nice quality image resolution, and looks great in a dragon book collection. I tried to get some close ups of the cover texture (see pics). The inside of the book is mostly 2 page spreads per dragon (stats on one side, picture on the next page). I just wish that they were all full color, as about a third of the book is sketches. Nice sketches, the dragons are decently represented, but in comparison to the fully rendered movie version pictures for the other dragons it is noticeable.

My Son is Obsessed!!!
My 3 year old’s newest obsession. He is always asking to watch the How to Train Your Dragon series, and now he has an amazing dragon encyclopedia to page though when we aren’t having screen time. He absolutely loves this book and caries it around with him everywhere and asks me and my husband to read about all the different dragons with him. Such a cool book!! And I love that it’s almost 100 pages long.

best dragon book ever for kids
we all have this book memorized. it’s a great collection of the classes of dragons. the only thing i’d add is their actual names. but if you’re as obsessed as we are you already know them.
