This Italian black pasta is wonderful. The color is from squid ink and the flavor is subtle. i have only had it in restaurants with shellfish and to me that and fish is what it should be used for. It looks great with white or butter sauces and really tasted great and is striking looking. This is Italian made and wonderful quality. To give your dish a extra sheen add a half to a cup of the cooked pasta water to an olive oil or butter based sauce.

Pasta has a beautiful pure black color. High quality pasta. Only a very faint, if any, seafood smell. Absolutely no fishy taste. Texture is firm, but soft. A wonderful bite. I discounted one star for the packaging.

This isn't easy to find, so I was happy that Amazon had it. Don't be afraid because almost everything from the ocean is good for you. The squid ink gives this pasta it's unique black color and serving it topped with anything white or colorful makes a great and exotic presentation for a special dinner. I like to serve it with shrimp and scallops sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Tah, dah!
