The Memory Book: How to Remember Anything You Want Review: An Excellent and Thorough Introduction and an Inspiring Refresher - Whether this is your first book on memory techniques or your tenth, Buzan likely has something to offer that you haven’t encountered elsewhere. This is an excellent book, well written and packed with truly useful information for remembering “anything you want,” just like the subtitle says. Although this is probably the eighth or so book on memory that I’ve read recently, I nevertheless found Buzan’s approach inspiring and informative. And, despite some slightly snarky comments I’d encountered about Buzan in other books, I didn’t find his style off-putting or overly egotistical. Yes, he trademarked his name. And of course he plugs Mind Maps, a technique he created and is justifiably proud of. But as they say: It isn’t bragging if you’ve done it. And Buzan *has* done it. With the guidance of his book, you can too. Review: Five Stars - perfect condition

An Excellent and Thorough Introduction and an Inspiring Refresher

You have to want to remember
There haven't been any new mnemonica tricks since Cicero, but Buzan does a lot of work for you with a ready-made Major List. Don't know what a Major list is? Buy the bolly book, mates.

Part of winning approach to exams...
People so often get caught out in exams because they haven't learnt the stuff properly - they think they know it but they don't. Buzan's book is fantastic because it gives an overview of techniques that actually work. Basically our brains aren't very good at remembering lists of stuff. Buzan's techniques work because they unleash the power of different parts of our brain: the imagination and our visual memory. These techniques are an essential piece of the jigsaw when it comes to doing well at exams. Good luck!

Invest your money and time in a self development booK like this instead of a fiction. I was able to crack my state civil service Exam thanks to this book.

The title of this review is written a bit tongue in cheek. It is a pretty good book with concepts explained clearly. It can also be horrifying when you first try some of the included memory tests at the beginning to discover how bad your memory is! It is primary a work book in that there is little to nothing about what memory is. However it gives a decent number of ways to improve it. But it won’t help if you just expect that just reading the book once will improve your memory you will be disappointed. To work, you will have to put a lot of work into the exercises on a daily basis in order to see any improvement. The book shows you what to do but are you willing to do what it takes?
