very very (very) basic curve tracer
Took a little over a month to arrive. The kit itself was complete (all parts were there), but the resistors were poorly marked , so a DMM is a must (for the capacitors as well). Assembly-wise , I'd say it's for the advanced beginner / intermediate level electronics hobbyist. There was no schematic included, and the documentation on the Thaikits website was not helpful. The problems came when trying to power the board up. I did not opt for the accessory power supply, so I tested the completed board using two linear supplies (Rigol and Agilent) with isolated (!) outputs , set each at 15 VDC and tied them in series, to get separate + and - outputs w the series interconnect tapped for the "0" volts. A ground connection from the scope to the "ground" tie on the PCB is necessary. With this set-up, the curves were way too noisy for reasonable gain measurements. To get the curves (from a 2N3904) in the picts, I ended up using two 13 volt LiFePO4 batteries tied in series which dramatically reduced the noise. As shown the old Tek 503 gave a nicer trace compared to the 2335, so the choice of scope also matters. It also helped to place a couple of ferrite beads onto "Y" input lead. the All-in-all, way cheaper than a used commercial curve tracer, but don't expect too much for the price.

What you get is a PCB and parts - Period!
Somewhat (mostly?) useless. It comes with zero information. I was not expecting step-by-step instructions, but minimally it should have a color photo, an overview, a schematic, and some user guidance - it has none of these things. The sellers 'answers' suggest a link to some information, but no link is provided. The sellers website noted in the photo does not provide any of this information either.
