Groom & Clean Greaseless Hair Control 4.50 oz (Pack of 2)

After a year of using Brylcreem, I decided three days ago to try Groom & Clean instead, and I am impressed. I have thin hair, and Brylcreem didn't hold my hair together well. One gust of wind was all it took for me to go from looking like a debonair gentleman to a molting bird. Groom & Clean holds my hair together and also makes stray hairs a thing of the past. Brylcreem was also greasy, and as others have also noted, I had to wash my hair twice to get the residue out. Because Groom & Clean is primarily water-based, it's not greasy at all and washes out easily.I have noticed that Brylcreem and Groom & Clean do have different scents. To me, Brylcreem smells like what I imagine an old-time barbershop to smell like, whereas Groom & Clean has more of a mint scent. Neither smell bad, and honestly, unless your significant other intentionally smells your hair often, does the scent really matter?TLDR: After a year of using Brylcreem, I switched to Groom & Clean three days ago. Groom & Clean holds thin hair well and isn't greasy, unlike Brylcreem. Groom & Clean also has a faint minty scent. I like Groom & Clean better.

Hi, Cranky here. Now, for all you old-timers out there, with thin, wispy, hair (and not much of it), Groom and Clean keeps what hair you have neat and tidy. Groom and Clean has a neutral scent and good holding power. I have used this product for years and I hope the manufacturer keeps producing it. Cranky is 75 years old and still going strong.

This is great stuff---actually seems to make my balding head look a lot better - like I have more hair than I really do. Been using this stuff for a few years now and always seem to like it better than other stuff like Vitalis that seems to dry out my hair. This Groom n Clean has unique ability to hold what little hair I have left in place for a lot longer than other brands and.... without being greasy.

I don't know how it works - it just does. And, I don't know what the "stink" is all about concerning its odor. It does have a somewhat "sweet" and "clean" odor that is reminiscent of old-time barber shops.I've had a life-long problem with unruly hair and out of desperation headed for Amazon to order some greasy (God forbid!!!) Brillcream. I ran across reviews for this product and decided to take a chance. Glad I did!

I had used this product as a youth and thought I would return to it to deal with my aged and now dry frizzy hair. I shouldn't have and upon reading the ingredients it became more clear. One of the main ingredients is mineral oil which will tame the frizzys but it also makes my hair look oily. If I still had a lot of hair this might work but it doesn't. I also found the sweet fragrance of this product off-putting. Others may not think similarly. Any way I wasted my money but learned you can't go back. I will stick with Infusium 23.

I've used G&C for several years when I can find it. I like it better than others as it is a bit easier to spread thru what hair I have left; others I don't feel disperse evenly even with a lot of massaging. And, the comb often ends up with a bit of dirt so it seems to be cleaning.

l love this stuff, it gives a greasy look without the grease. if you only use a little bit then it makes your hair soft when it dries.

Why was this discontinued? If the MFR advertised it to a younger base it should keep going. I know there are a lot of skinheads and short hair people but full hair people like me (65 years old) need something to clam the fluffies/frizzies after washing. This product works great, smells great and does not emphasize wave as other hair dressing like Fructis does.It remains soft not stiff.
