This is a mosquito trap. That is all it is. The ingredients are 11% salt and 88% table sugar with less than 1% yeast (that stuff you buy in the baking section). The yeast starts eating the sugar and the CO2 gas it produces attracts mosquitoes. They enter the device through conical 1-way holes (like in a minnow trap), they get trapped in there, and drop dead. That's why the water you add has to be warm. Yeast won't wake up in cold water.The thing is, the company isn't trying to hide this fact from anyone, company co-president Jeremy Hirsch has given a number of interviews where he says exactly what's in there and how it works. The only thing is you shouldn't get fooled by the idea that you have to buy a new one of these every 90 days or whatever. Just make the mix at home, re-fill and you're good to go again. This is basically a small version of those large mosquito trap machines but it doesn't need electricity or propane.If you want to save money, put out something online that says you are looking for used/empty Spartan canisters and just fill them with the % of ingredients to the weight level printed on the label itself.

This is the second time that I've purchased this brand of mosquito repellant/killer/get away from me-er so I have figured a thing or two out and am satisfied with my results.Firstly, leave the white stuff in the plastic pouch when you pour the hot water in. The pouch of white stuff dissolves in the hot water and mixxes when you shake the bottle. Also, put the white cap back on before you shake. I made that mistake once.I found out that it isn't actually a trap but rather something that they drink and fly away and die so make sure that you put it away from where you want them to stay away from because it does attract the mosquitos before killing them.I added some pictures to show where I got the best results from. We needed the mosquitos to stay away from the front porch and the back patio around the basketball goal so I placed them in spots nearby but not directly.All this being said, they do work and I purchased again.

I was so certain this wouldn't work but I was desperate. I'm one of those people that mosquitos flock to and since using Spartan I've been able to garden and water my plants in the evening and hang out in the back yard without ONE bite.

Best thing since sliced bread. Only problem is that my husband didn’t follow the directions. I had to order more and follow them. Kids outdoors in the evenings...absolutely priceless.

I am a mosquito magnet. And can never go out to my yard unless dressed with long pants, long sleeve shirt, gloves, scarf, boots. Not kidding. I have to run from the car to my door. Well, no more. I have a 3/4 acre property and initially placed 2 bottles, one near a corner of the front porch where most trees were, the other on the back side of the house, near the far away shed. I did this the second week of August. Nearly a week later, I still had mosquitoes on the side of the house. Then I realized that I needed to 'double' since I had started way after the season began. Doubling on a 3/4 lot meant hanging a third bottle, this one almost equidistant from the other two. Less than a week later, I was walking with sandals and cutoffs all around the yard! We have had tons of rains all summer, but it has been quite dry in the last 3 weeks. I am sure that has helped a lot.Addition: Has been raining a lot in the last three days. Yet, not a sign of any mosquito anywhere! Have had the tubes hanging for 4 weeks now. Today, I was able to enjoy my yard and the outside for the first time in 30 years at my home. Product is great and have been using it for years down here in the South where the mosquitos are always a nightmare. It lives up to its performance!!

After pretty much being eaten alive by mosquitoes in our yard that we really want to enjoy, we took a chance with this product.My husband and I weren’t sure about this product at first, because every product says it’s great and works. But only 2 days after putting these Eradicators up, the mosquitoes have diminished substantially.Thank you for not disappointing!

Bought 2 starter kits. Installed correctly. No change. one star because zero stars not an option.Adding to review...just received 5 starter packs(10 tubes) in the mail with a letter and a printed Google satellite map that they marked up where to put the tubes. Since it's now early September 2018 I am going to save them until next season and report back. For now, my review stays as is for the product but kudos to Spartan for the free shipment and map to install 10 tubes.
