I use for horticulture work, not rebar...fantastic tool!
Zip ties break after a year or so. I've been looking for an alternative. This is a dream tool for horticulture work. Stainless steel wire works best. I can't say how long the tool lasts as my use is limited. I use for horticulture work, not rebar. But am very happy with it for my use. Highly recommended. It is a fantastic tool! Can't live without it, am buying more backups.Daniel D. Teoli Jr. Archival CollectionDaniel D. Teoli Jr. Small Gauge Film ArchiveDaniel D. Teoli Jr. Advertising ArchiveDaniel D. Simple and easy to use
Absolutely makes tying fence ties 1000x easier. So easy to twist, you actually have to be careful not to twist too many times as to break the wire. Would recommend over and over again if you have a big fencing project coming up!

Efficient rebar wire tie tool. UPDATE: THIS BROKE AFTER ABOUT 4 HOURS OF USE, DO NOT BUY THIS TOOL.
Works well, more convenient than the 'wirlygig' tie tool. Also fast and controllable. Better than climbing 30' into the air with my battery powered tie gun.I ordered a four pack of another brand and the first time that I used one it locked up and I had to tap the arm back into the shaft. I ordered an third one of these tools and should have stayed with what works. Great product.Update: the plug at the end of the shaft fell out which allowed the plastic sleeve to slide off the shaft. This happened with about 4 hours of use.

Takes 3 or more pulls to twist rebar wire ties.
Started using this tool today, and so far it works. There are many mixed reviews, which i concider when purchasing, so my review is soley based on use and personal opinion.Although I am a general contractor, I am far from a concrete expert and do not use this tool on a professional level, so speed is not a concern. As long as it holds up throughout my footing projects on my home, I'm satisfied.I use a standard twist tie tool that most rod busters use, which does have its own issues, so trying this newest tool was worth a shot. I noticed that it has way too much tension that it needs. You can easily pull your rebar out of placement unless you hold the bar while using this tool. You would hold it anyway with a twist tool, but not nearly as much. I use the standard length ties with the eyelets, and it takes 3 to 4 full pulls to get the wire to tighten up. 1 or 2 seeks more appropriate, concidering a twist tool takes around 6 twist and your done.It does make the most perfect twists i have ever seen, but that doesnt matter in rebar. I will update this review if needed, but my 3 stars is based on the amount of force and count of pulls it takes to complete the job its intended to be used for. Although speed is not a huge factor, it is my personal opinion that it takes more effort and time to twist wire than a regular twist tool. I have seen videos of this type of tool only needing 1 pull to do the same job as this tool that takes more than 3.
