It doesn’t look cheap, good quality if you know how to use it. I like it

To think all of my life I've been trying to keep the tips of a set of snap-ring or needle-nose pliers apart just the right amount to grab the notches on the back of my (and my wife's) watches and carefully twist the back of the case off... and then, the day before yesterday faced with that task again, I decide to search for a tool that performs that function and discover this beauty: how did I live 67 years without it? A solid, stainless-steel tool, designed for the job. Arrived an hour ago and put into service immediately replacing a dead watch battery. It really did the trick... making it much easier for these somewhat arthritic hands. Didn't even have to remove the watch band. I heartily recommend it!

Ordering these kind of tools has always been a coin toss on whether you’ll get a decent tool or just wasted your money. Happily this isn’t just a decent tool, it’s excellent. Very good quality, fit and finish are nice, very smooth, and it works great. Buy this one with confidence!

This tool is... something. It technically works, in the sense that it opens watch backs without setting them on fire or launching bits across the room. But using it feels like assembling IKEA furniture blindfolded. The wrench itself is large and awkward, like it was designed by someone who’s never seen a wristwatch up close. The bits? There are 12 of them, which sounds great until you realize half don’t fit anything you own and the other half wobble like they’re auditioning for a dance competition. Adjusting the tool is a test of patience and finger dexterity. Once you finally get it aligned, it does open the case back—eventually. Just don’t expect precision or elegance. It’s more brute force than finesse.

This is a very tricky tool to use well. As are all Jaxa style tools. Others have already commented that this one is pretty well made. There are cheaper ones out there, and previous to owning this tool, I had one of these, which scratched my watch back and did not open the watch. I sent it back. This one worked, but I was very careful to fit the 3 nibs that open my specific case tightly in the case lugs before I carefully applied counterclockwise pressure. Voila! The watch back came off. It's a very good idea to place a sheet of clear plastic over the watch back BEFORE you start clamping the tool on. That way, if you slip, you'll do much less damage to the watch back.

This product came with one screw out and none of the little bits that were to fit on the back of the watch. I'm not sure if it was supposed to come in a little plastic bag or not but the bag was already torn open. I don't know if you would want to trust this product or not. I'm just saying something cause it was a small amount of money but nobody has money to throw away. I don't so buy at your own risk.
