How long was the breaking in period for this cartridge? What did you recognize w/res to sound during that period? What do you track at, personally?TY!

I don't know if all of these cartridges open up after a definite number of playing hours. In my case, there was a subtle change after 30-40 hours. suddenly there was a dramatic difference! IMO is difficult to give precise answers, given the large number of variables (tone arm, tracking force, etc.) My TT is a Denon DP300F, and I listen classical music, both symphonic and chamber. At the beginning, the sound was lacking in spaciousness and the treble was a bit shrill. Now the sound is well balanced and open and using a good pair of headphones is thrilling. There is also a definite reduction in the amount of surface noise and no inner groove distortion. I use a tracking force of +/- 1.4 grams, using the tonearm's calibration. My amp has a MM phono input. Do these high-output MC cartridges still need a MC input, or will it work with a MM input?

It works wonderfully with an MM input. I have mine on an SL 1200 running into a Technics SU-7300 phono input and it works like a champ. If your amp or receiver"s phono input is even halfway decent you will be happy. No MC input required.

What exactly is this for?

It’s a high quality cartridge for a turntable. It fits on the end of a tone arm that plays the record.

i have a denon dp 62 l with s tone arm and the medium counter weight only . would this cartridge work for my set up.

I think so. Mine is set at 2.3 grams and works fine.
