The Complete Book of Questions: 1001 Conversation Starters for Any Occasion

The questions are kinda average to me, they don't really have an open minded point of view. However, there are some thought provoking questions there.

this book is great! and it's not just for people who don't know how to start a conversation. the range of questions in this book is fantastic! it covers quirky topics that you may not think to ask the people that are closest to you (but you'll find that the answers are interesting to know). and it goes all the way to in-depth questions that probe more serious, deep matters. i gave it to my best friend to her birthday, and she takes it everywhere! she'll get it out at a restaurant and start asking questions to the server or anyone nearby. it's great for long car rides or just any old time. it can also be a great way to ask questions to people that you wouldn't normally feel comfortable talking to in such a way--parents, for example.i think this book is great for anyone! it's even fun to read on your own and think about your own answers to these questions. it makes a great gift...people love picking up this book and flipping through its pages to find a great question to ask the group.it's not just a way to get to know strangers...you can even learn things about people you've known for years!

Last year I went online several times to google "get to know you questions," and was always disappointed with the content or repetitive questions. I figured I would also be disappointed with this book, but it exceeded my expectations! I purchased it for a recent beach vacation, knowing my man and I would have lots of down time together.. and I thought this could be a fun/easy way to reconnect. It was! I also love that the book breaks up the categories into sections, some being lighter topics, and some progressing to more personal topics. There really is a huge variety, and there are plenty of topics I wouldn't have been able to come up with on my own. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! It is now a book I keep on my coffee table :-) It could be fun for friends too, not just relationships.

I've had this book for several years now. I use it primarily during the high school youth group that I lead. The questions in the book are extremely effective at evoking great discussion within both shy and open groups alike. Sometimes the questions even produce too much discussion (come on kids, we're on a little bit of a schedule!), but to get the kids going and talking about their lives is a great thing and this book helps tremendously at achieving that goal.The book is also just a great thing to have sitting in the car during long rides or when you just want to get acquainted with some new friends more. I can see how some people would see it and think "oh great, a book of conversation starters?" but I've never had that thought impede any use I've had for it.The questions themselves have a great range of depth--they're purposely divided up into five sections from surface-level to extremely deep philosophical/theological questions. It's exciting to open up a group with some of those 'easier' questions and then use that momentum to tackle deep spiritual questions. One of the most effective things about the questions in this book is that there are no right answers and no yes/no questions.Overall one of the best investments I've ever made in a tool for ministry!

My wife and purchased this to just have some table talk time and it has proven stimulating in parts and fun in others. You can choose what category (we just say a number and talk about it). We have had conversations that last about 5 minutes to an hour depending on our question and time. Have fun! We also sent a copy to our daughter and her husband as a gift.

My boyfriend and I bought this book to read together. We have talked about several other books we read together during many phone calls. They were mostly good finds. That helped us laugh and get to know each other on a deeper level. The Complete Book of Questions in my opinion has been the best one we have done. I actually have plans to buy this book for some gifts. Would highly recommend this book.Not only would this be great for those in a relationship but, also dinner parties, family reunions, baby showers, and even some professional settings; where your just not sure how to get conversations going. I ordered this hoping to find some questions that I could easily use in random conversation. This book exceeded my expectations. This is a fantastic book of questions that has something for everyone (both for others and yourself. Some of the these questions will put you in a SERIOUS contemplative mode). The book is separated into 10 categories (e.g., light & easy, preferences, blast from the past, just imagine, spiritually speaking, etc.). The categories start off with things that you can pretty much ask anybody and go up in complexity to things you may only want to discuss with people you trust. This makes the book flow in an intuitive sense and makes it easy for you to choose different questions that you want to ask different audiences. The book is also a quick read and you can fit it in a small bag just in case you want to carry it with you. Definitely recommended!

This book is a treasure— it provides casual opportunities to hear the hearts of those you meet— whether close friends, relatives, or acquaintances.. I started taking this book to my physical therapy appointments & to my amazement— multiple people were gathering around because they wanted to participate and answer the questions.

My maid of honour bought this for me back when my husband and I first started dating & were about to be long distance... Now it sits in our first home 💕 LOVE the question variety & how there are so many ways you can use it!!Pick a random number, toss to a friend, intentionally choose one subject, or let them find a question... No matter what it sparks deep chats & hilarious conversations. There are things I would have nevvvvver thought to ask & yet I’m so glad I did 🙂I carry it in my purse or leave it on our coffee table... We take it on road trips and have purchased it for friends. STRONGLY RECOMMEND... become a better question asker & listener!!

Good points - some great, thought provoking questionsBad points - some sections and questions are overly religious - hard to answer if you're not.

This is a very interesting and handy book to have in order to start a conversation with other people. I highly recommend it!
