So relaxing
I have started to become obsessed with diamond paintings. I have only completed a handful thus far but I enjoy the process. It's relaxing for me and I really enjoy doing them while listening to my e-textbooks. I'm not able to just sit in front of my computer. I have to keep my hands busy as well. These don't take my mind off what I am listening to and a lot of times I am done with a section before I even realize it. Same when I watch TV, I cannot just sit there so I work on my diamond paintings. This diamond painting comes in a plastic box with a clear window on it to see the canvas. There is information printed on the box that is all in English. There are basic instructions on the back. It is 16 by 20 inches so it will take some time to do. It is a full drill meaning the entire picture will require diamonds on it. It has round drills so some of the background will shine through. It has 26 different colors. The sheet that covers the adhesive is clear. The adhesive is really strong so you won't be able to move the diamonds around much after you have placed them. You will need to use the tweezers to pick them up and move them. There is a grid that provides the code and DMC number. This set comes with 2 green trays for the diamonds, a pair of tweezers, 2 pieces of adhesive for the pens, and a pen that has both a single pick up and 6 piece pick up end.The diamonds come individually wrapped but all the diamond wrappers attached to one another in a row. Only the DMC number is on the wrapper. The diamonds are pretty clean but there is some crossover from the manufacturing process so I may find a green dimaond in with the yellows. This isn't a big deal for me and it's easy to fix as I come across them.I am very pleased with this diamond painting. The colors look good, the adhesive is great, the diamonds are evenly shaped, and I enjoyed doing it. I will say that this is not one you will use a multi-pen with a lot. I have a 3 diamond pick up end that I used a lot on this but the 6 end barely was used so I think this set should have included a 3 piece pick up rather than the 6.If you are new to diamond paintings and think it's going to be a good hobby for you I highly recommend getting some containers to store the diamonds in and keep them organized. I use unmarked pill organizers and place little stickers on them with the number, letter, or symbol to make them easy to find. Some people go all out and have organizers for their unused diamonds as well so they can have them in case another painting is missing those diamonds or mail them to someone who is missing those diamonds. I just keep my leftovers in small ziplock baggies. When I get a new diamond painting the first thing I do is open it up and peel the cover back halfway on one said and lay it back down. I then repeat the process on the other side. This helps it lay flat. Also, I can use that time to look for any potential bubbles in the adhesive and use a razor to gently slice it open. Some bubbles can cause the diamonds to not lay flat. Next, I take washi tape and cover the edges of the painting right up to the line where the painting starts. The adhesive extends past the painting a little and debris can stick to it, especially fuzz from long sleeve shirts. The longer the painting will take you, the higher chance of it getting dirty.

Beautiful. Cross-stitch for rheumatoid arthritis!
This will be the 2nd diamond painting that I will finish. I'm a 40-year-old woman with moderate/severe rheumatoid arthritis. I stopped doing cross-stitch for obvious reason a few years ago, but AM COMPLETELY IN LOVE with this craft! I hadn't even finished the first one when I saw this one. I unboxed it yesterday. This one far exceeds the quality of the 1st one (from different company). I love nice, thick canvas. The symbols are all easy to read (no confusion of "b" vs "h" or "K" vs "H") and all the colors correspond with the DMC floss system, so, should my son knocks over anything, I can order new ones through any company that uses that system. The drills are rounder on top (convex). The colors of the drills for this design are really mellow, which I like because my last one was way too gaudy. It came with a green tray, all the drills, an applicator (single on one end, double on the other), wax, and zip-top baggies. This kit was really well thought through and its quality is awesome. You don't need a cross-stitch background to enjoy the zen relaxation of diamond painting! My recommendations: If you have physical limitations in your hands, I suggest getting a fat applicator pen. If you have any vision issues (or even if you don't!) get a flat LED adjustable light pad for under it to make the symbols really pop. I also purchased a kit that has plastic box storage for the different drill colors, a funnel type tray, and a little roller to flatten out the drills (elsewhere on Amazon).

First Diamond Painting
I purchased this diamond painting after extensive research into choosing one. I liked the overall finished look of this one and would actually want to look at it every day hanging in my house, unlike 99.5% of the other paintings I found. I didn't have a preference on square or round drills; this one has round drills. The canvas has flattened out enough on its own without me doing anything to it and is easy to work on. The canvas is very sticky and I'm not having any problem with the drills moving. I press down pretty good on each one per my research. The key is clear to me and I feel easy to read; however, I do crochet and cross stitch regularly so am used to reading patterns and looking at small things for a long time. Someone who isn't as used to this may find some of the symbols a bit hard to read. I find their designs far enough apart from each other in color and symbol to be okay. With the research I did, I was able to work on the painting almost directly out of the box. With the tools provided (pen, wax, shakey tray) you could complete it. However, I also purchased a tool kit and took the time to organize the drills in the tool kit's containers. I wouldn't recommend using the drills out of the packages they come in as there's no good way to seal them and I'm glad I purchased a tool kit with containers.Overall, I'm really liking this kit. I looked at much more expensive kits and feel that this one looks and feels like it would cost more than it does.

This is a good quality kit with only a few drawbacks.
The beads are good quality, they don’t clump together like some kits. The packaging for the beads is clearly marked which is great. The canvas is nice and thick and the adhesive is good and strong. Unfortunately, are a few things that stop me from giving a 5 star review. The first is that some of the symbols on the canvas are blurred and hard to read. The 3, 6 and B look nearly the same in some sections. My second issue is that the clear plastic cover is too thin and so clear that it is difficult to pull back and you can’t see where the boundary is on the section that you expose. Also, the plastic doesn’t stay back, it flips forward again while you are working on it. The plastic covered paper used in other kits is much easier to work with. Overall, the picture is very nice and I enjoyed working on it. I was able to overcome the problem with the plastic cover by using blue painters tape over the top of the plastic before I peel it back. It allows me to fold the cover back and It stays back. I can also see the boundaries of the section I am working on clearly.
