Does the 'Quartet' company name peel off as a sticker, or is it permanent on the glass?

If you are looking for a one of the larger sizes you can get the "Quartet Magnetic Whiteboard, Glass White Board, 74" x 42", Black Dry Erase Surface, Frameless, InvisaMount (G7442IMB)". It comes in black or white, no mounting hardware exposed. Uses a french cleat type mounting system. Its in 16:9 HD aspect ratio, so it looks like a TV on the wall. I don't have one yet, but have been giving serious thought.

How strong is the magnetic capabilities of the board? I am looking to use the board to store name tags that have a magnetic attachment.

The board simply has a steel layer on the back to make it 'magnetic', so the magnetic capability is good provided you have good magnet attachments (e.g. "NeoPin" magnets, or other types of strong Neodymium Magnets).

Is the surface painted white? If so, can it be scratched off?

The material under the glass is white, so no it can't be scratched off.

Does the 4x8 size come with middle brackets or just the four corners?

It comes with two additional brackets in the middle. So in total there are 8 brackets, 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom.
