i've been using a dedicated e-ink note tablet for a while and picked up the Viwoods AiPaper out of curiosity. The first thing I noticed was the screen — it looks crisper than I expected, ano ghosting is pretty well controlled. Writing feels snappy. I'm not saying it's "paper," but the latency is low enough that my brain stops caring. Overall, if your priority is handwriting + reading and you don't need a full Android "do-everything" device, the AiPaper is surprisingly compelling.

Great import feature. Calendar function syncs with goggle platform. Excellent for work use and organization of notes.

BUGs. Text gets lost. Sometimes only half the text in a file remains a day later. Copying text from the "Meeting" page to the "To Do list" had different text being copied than what was on the Meeting page. The Calendar had numbers on it That made no sense superimposed with the date. There were some other things too. Stuff would work one second, then not work the next, then work again? Actually, I really liked the ViWoods AI Paper in concept. I think once they get the bugs worked out, this might be the best E ink tablet to get? The AI was very nice. I tried going to the company's help page but I didn't see anything in the FAQ contents that would help. I tried the chat feature but got no response. Maybe they will send me an email later, but I decided I don't trust the thing so I decided to returned it at that point. I feel bad about that because in concept, I really like this e ink tablet. I am thinking of getting a ReMarkable or a Supernote Manta instead? But I chose the ViWood over those to originally because it seemed like it would be the best one. Again, hopefully the company will fix the problems. I think it is software, but it could be a hardware problem I suppose. Oh well.

This AiPaper’s large screen is honestly such a win—makes reading so much easier on the eyes. No squinting or zooming in on the text at all, even when I’m going through dense pages or long chapters, and the big display just feels way more like reading an actual book. I end up reading for way longer than I mean to sometimes just because the screen’s so nice and comfortable, zero eye strain even after hours of flipping through books and docs.

I decided to return right after unbox it. This device is more like a toy than an AI paper including one straight line alphabet cross the screen. Not recommend this product.

Great device overall, at least for my needs. The only thing missing for me is a front light, which would make it perfect—but I knew that going in. I use this mainly at my desk for longer writing, and pair it with my ViWoods Mini 8 on the go. In that role, it shines. It's thin and fits into my bag easily. I highly recommend placing it in a padded sleeve and away from heat (ViWoods Customer Service help with the fried device not good - non existing). It's vulnerable to heat and slight bends if it is carried loosely in a backpack next to a warm laptop. It feels like a blend of Boox, reMarkable (but with apps android 13), and Kindle Scribe (with a full functioning browser)—flexible, simple, and great for reading and writing. The home screen with widgets is super useful (calendar, notes, files all right there). No speaker isn’t an issue for me since I use Bluetooth. Mics work well, and recording - transcribing into notes is a nice bonus. The pen is excellent—one of the best I’ve used, no rattling, and attaches securely. If you understand what this device is for, it’s a really solid choice.

This is the best e-ink device that I have used so far. Writing feels similar to Supernote when using the ceramic stylus.

Is it worth it? For me absolutely. If you mainly use it for handwriting and reading, this delivers a great experience: the display is crisp and writing feels close to paper. What surprised me most is it’s a perfect focus machine. There’re no notifications or endless scrolling to distract me. I open it and immediately get to work on planning and taking notes. It’s replaced two of my notebooks and helped me stay away from distractions. This is the only device that has truly made my daily routine simpler and more efficient.
